The King Kong Show (1966)

Rankin/Bass cartoon with Toei animation. I loved this show as a kid and it's still fun to watch. Nothing sophisticated or scientifically accurate here, just cool '60s Monsterkid fun.  8)

This two volume DVD set was released with the Peter Jackson movie. The set contains the first eight episodes of the show plus the extended length pilot episode. Some of these are posted on You Tube so check 'em out.

The Wolfman (2010)

It's pretty good but it can't fill the shoes of the 1941 classic.

Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster (1966)

With beautiful Kumi Mizuno.  :-*

A bit of trivia- this flick was supposed to star King Kong but Rankin/Bass didn't think the script was close enough to their Saturday morning cartoon The King Kong Show (1966), so Toho instead featured Kong in King Kong Escapes (1967) and, always the frugal bunch, Toho used the script for this flick with the Big G. That's the reason Godzilla does something peculiar like becoming infatuated with the island girl Kumi Mizuno plays, it was written for Kong. Of course it's not much of a stretch for any species or gender to be infatuated with Kumi.

"Dark Night of the Scarecrow" - I remember seeing this on TV back in the day. Still very enjoyable.
