Star Puzzles were made in New York from 1967 to 1969 by Adult Leisure Products Corp. They came in a round tin film canister, but I've also seen them packaged assembled on a cardboard backing sealed in cellophane with a label on them.
They are round puzzles about 18" in diameter with unusually shaped pieces. Each one is either in black and white, or sepia-toned, or black with one light color replacing what would be white in a B+W photo. I've seen Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlow, W.C. Fields, and a couple of others I can't recall. They are hard to find. I have a Marilyn Monroe plus the three that are monster related. Here is my Bela Lugosi/Dracula canister...

And here is my assembled Lugosi puzzle. I assembled it, took the photo thinking it was missing one piece, took it apart, then found the missing piece, so, I'm happy to say it's actually complete. If they weren't so challenging to assemble I'd make it again and retake a pic of the complete puzzle.

Yes--that, along with the odd shapes make them challenging.

Besides being packaged in the metal film canisters I've seen some that were packaged assembled on a cardboard backing and wrapped in cellophane with a label on the cellophane. So, my Lon Chaney must've came like that and someone saved the label.
