When do you let a girl you're dating see your collection?

Wizard...I honestly can't fathom people who say relationships aren't work or there should never be compromise because everything should just fit magically like a Disney film.  Real life, and real relationships, are harder...but ultimately I think better than the romances portrayed simplistically like that.

Right! I've learned (the hard way) that challenges in a relationship are often opportunities for love & growth.

You've got me right, Horror101. I'm one of those types who has a hard time wasting time. I never got into being a video gamer because I could devote that same time to artwork or a story and I have something I can sell for the time investment. Not that there's anything wrong with video gamers. I just could never be one. If I were just looking for flings I bet I could get all kinds of girls but I'm just not into that. Never have been.

The way I understand it, Hepcat, if you're with the right person marriage is no work at all. We always get told it's a compromise but that implies there is a loser. I'm told it's much more of a collaboration.

Lol. If I posted ads like that on telephone poles I'd probably get a lot of foreign people looking for visas. The bulk of any dating site I've ever tried has been that nonsense...

Missdead - I wasn't going by looks. I don't reject on looks. I just said that every goth girl I've ever met has been the stereotype. I still talk to them but I always meet a VERY DARK girl with DEEP issues whenever I do. I hope you don't feel insulted. I was only speaking from my experience and wasn't casting judgement on you or goth girls, only the ones I've met. I wouldn't classify Lily Munster as being a goth girl either. She WAS June Clever. :D

I think people judge me on my looks all the time. They don't think I look like very much fun or they think I'm an idiot so I get passed by. I think I'm very easy to underestimate when first meeting me in person. I've always said I come across better in writing than in person.

I didn't think you looked wild, Horror 101 either. I thought you looked pretty safe. You just obviously have a dark side as most of the people here do.

I've never drank, smoked, or done a drug either. That usually turns a girl off for some reason.

I understand how you feel about the video game thing I actually love video games and have many but i have probally over 10 i have never played due to focusing on my art career. As for the darkside I would say I have my own Mr. Hyde.  ;)

That is only mildly disturbing.   Zombie Alien

Wow, I just noticed the great pic of Miss Dead. What an amazing looking woman. There's your June Cleaver with a dash of Suicide Girl.

Quote from: Wizard_Of_Ed on June 26, 2012, 07:57:30 AMI know that they're libertarian because I live in a small town and have asked them. :D

So did that somehow make them incompatible?

Quote from: Wizard_Of_Ed on June 26, 2012, 07:57:30 AMII've learned long ago if you don't agree on faith/morality/faith as a foundation then the relationship is doomed to fail. You can call that closed minded but talk to the people who have split up and those who have been together for decades and see what they tell you.

Alright then. So post the sign I suggested on your church's bulletin board next Sunday. By early next week you'll have a score of eager applicants all wearing push-up bras and clutching glossy coffee table books on Picasso, Warhol and whichever other ones were on sale at your local bookshop.

A Lilly Munster is the type of woman every guy should hope to get. Lol. :D I always have liked Samantha in Bewitched too because of how much she loved her husband. Think about what she gave up to be with this man and you see how she always helps him like a partner and sometimes Darrin wasn't even aware. He must have been a very special guy and we know she was a pretty special woman and he had to put up with the mother in law from Hell as well as all the crazy relatives but Endora was the biggest pain. I like Donna Reed in It's A Wonderful Life too. She was a strong woman as well....since we're talking about TV/film wives/moms....

We still have Goths here.

Yeah, Charp, I enjoy getting to know people and comparing notes. I'm usually a very controversial figure because of it but this is probably the forum I've been best received at in my history of participating in forums. (I've only been attacked once so that's a good day for me...) I find this stuff all interesting too. I've never met so many people who share similar interests in collecting before even though we collect different things.

I didn't notice Miss Dead's picture until Mord mentioned it. (I'm on dial up because they don't service high speed internet in my neck of the woods yet. Maybe I missed the post before or she edited it since I was last on. I don't remember it but I posted after it. Maybe I just fell out of the Twilight Zone...Anyway...)  I'll comment (if Miss Dead won't kill me...lol.) If I saw you in a library I wouldn't see goth. (Goths don't typically have your sense of style or smile.) I'd notice your smile at first. I might even talk to you. But I wouldn't shut out a person who looked like you as a goth. I tend to notice the spark in the eyes of people. It says a lot about who they are and you look rather lively. My family would probably freak out if I brought a tattooed, pierced up girl with pink hair but that's another story. Lol. And just the disclaimer, I'm not hitting on Miss Dead, just stating an opinion.

Horror 101, Yeah, I don't knock video gamers. It's just not something I've ever got into for the reason I've stated. I'm more of a play a movie to listen to talk radio as I create person. I can see a Mr. Hyde vibe there. Lol.

Hepcat - I'm incompatible with flaming liberal women whether they be democrats or libertarians. They often have preconceived notions of what conservatism and free market capitalism is and want anarchy or a form of socialism. This often stems from their moral/faith beliefs and it's just not something that ever works out. Since I'm doing a book about American culture right now it's a big part of who I am so that's why it doesn't fit. (I'm not talking about religion and politics, just about myself. I guess I have to put a disclaimer on everything since some people go nuts even if you're vague like that.)

Sadly, my church is full of elderly single women and married couples. I seemed to have been born to a generation of myself and most women I meet who are in their mid to early 20's reject you on age alone. Last year when I was 30 I met a girl who was 28 and she said "Ewwww. You're a year older than my brother so that would be weird..." She was serious too! I think it's sad how snotty women can be sometimes.

Perhaps I shall post a picture of myself since Horror101 and Missdead have. I'm not as, um, exotic looking though as either of those two are. What ya see is what you get....

Um....How do I do that? In every other forum I've ever been on there's been an attach image option and I don't see one here. I see an inster image icon but how do I upload a photo?

horror1o1

go to photo bucket and up load a pic and copy he direct link code. press the little mona lisa button on here and paste in between the bracets. This probally makes no sense.lol

Okay, here's who the Wizard of Ed is...This was taken of me at North Pole, NY and I use this Reindeer photo as my "official" press photo. It has my essence even though some say it's not a good picture of me.

I'll post a few more as soon as I see if this worked.

Okay, I figured it out....

Here's another one from North Pole, NY

Here I am selling one of my books at a comic book shop book signing (I'll use sell loosely as no one ever showed even though I did 12 hours or radio interviews and had an ad on TV and was in a newspaper or two. It was at my old college town so no one cared.) Oh, and this is when I had a beard (again we'll use the term loosely.) I look a lot like the Young Kris Kringle Puppet from Santa Claus is Comin' To Town. Oh, and I also sculpted that figure on the table. I take it with me to shows. It was the first think like that I ever sculpted. I could do a lot better today. (People knock that I made that too as if it's a girly thing to have done. It doesn't bother me, I'm just mentioning it.)

Here's one I did of my and a few of my characters on my old website. It's kinda what it's like to be a storyteller. You're characters are always on your mind like this....(The actual artwork is not drawn by myself because I wasn't allowed to illustrate my own books with that publisher. It was all based on my artwork though so if you feel I deserve a co-credit that's up to you. It's what I designed just in that artist's style.)

And for fun, here I am at my high school graduation. Even then I never got any dates. lol.

And now you know what I look like. Who's next. :P
