Holy cow! With that level of detail, I wish this was realistic instead of stylized. Very, very cool.
Are those neck-bolts glow-in-the-dark?

You and me both!  I really hope Mezco decides to do play sets that live up to this terrific standard.   ;)

Those bolts are not glow in the dark. When the factory does a test shot they use whatever plastic is in the machine at the time. It makes for some interesting colors.

Starting to look more Kaloffian, but I also would rather have all this effort go into a non-stylized version.

Test shots are so cool.  I wish I could get my hands on 'em!

DST has the license for realistic figures right now----can 2 producers /licensees hold the same type of toy at the same time?

Personally I wanna see realistic Universal monster figures by NECA. Because I love their stuff. ;D

Universal_Adam

Are there two different licences on figures?  One for Realistic and one for Stylized?

That's what I am asking.

Wow, that's really interesting.  I didn't know that! I'm curious..is there like a list somewhere of all the different products that can be licensed out?

Not for the general public, no. Sorry.

Count_Zirock

Just about anything you can think of, can be licensed. Action figures, dolls, chess sets, barware, dinnerware, collector plates, jewelry, prop replicas, breakfast cereals, soda cans & bottles, beer steins, train sets, miniature villages, coffee mugs, adhesive bandages, stationary sets, etc, ad infinitum! If you can make it with images on it, it can be licensed.

Count Z hit it on the head.

In addition everything is by region/ territory.
So multiple companies can make essentially the same thing but for sale in different parts of the world.
On top of that, within the same territory there is Mass and Specialty. So two companies can have the same license, within the same region, as long as one only sells to specialty stores and the other to mass market stores. I must be discrete but if you think back a few years you may remember the situation with a comic book based series of figures that could only be sold at specialty because another company was doing them for mass.
