Yup. It's basically a prepainted vinyl kit. That's how good the sculpt is. Believe it or not it was not for sale but was a prize in those stupid crane/claw machines! They call them UFO Catchers in Japan and they always have very cool figures like this. I have the big Gamera as well as all 6 of the 7 inch Gamera figures sega put out as UFO prizes, several Godzillas and a few Ultramen. Wish they had stuff like that in machines here-can you imagine a nice 12 inch Frankenstein crane prize!
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

It's been a while since I posted any more of my photo's. There was a while when I wasn't doing any, but I have a few new ones to show. So, here's a photo I took of an Aurora Mummy. I just used sunlight coming through a window to light it. Color-wise I was going for similar colors to the Aurora glow square box.

I thought the same thing Mike, it does have a real painterly quality to it.  Great photo though and I'm amazed you were able to make it look like this based on your description of where you toolkit.

Fantastic work and love the colour you went with for it, it really does have that vintage feel!

Here's one more of the Creature figure with the Aurora body and Marx arms and head. Sometimes when I'm taking a photo I know pretty much what I want the final image to look like. This was one of those times. Since the Creature is in a swimming position I knew I wanted him to look like he's under water swimming up to the surface. I attached a stiff wire to the hole in his foot to support him in this pose and removed the wire in editing.

I think I made that years ago, then sold it on ebay as I recall.  Over 10 years ago I made it, or someone else did one just like it.  Forgot all about it!

Thanks Mike, glad you like the Ymir.

Hugohernandez, I know exactly which controversial photo you're talking about. I never thought of it when looking at my Creature photo, though, but now that you mention it I can see a similarity.

Here's another "under water" Creature photo. This figure I got off E-bay. It's a custom someone made out of an
Aurora Monsters Of the Movies body with head and arms from a Marx Creature.

Yep, that's the one. Shoulda looked further back in the thread.  I hope Creecho Marx is still doing well.

Mike and Palifan- thanks, I sometimes try to make the photo's look like paintings that could've been done in the '60's. Probably because I'm a big fan of the artists that were painting monsters in the '60's. Also I try to make the viewer feel like they just saw a vintage monster image that they've never seen before with some of my photo's.

Vandor_Zorkov - thanks for making that creature! I bought it off e-bay and I like it! I still have it, although it's packed away in a box right now.

Marsattacks666 - Thank you.

Here's another photo I took. This is an Aurora Creature...

Dude, you should print some of these various monster pics up and have full size posters made of them! You could probably sell some of the poster prints here on UMA.  ;)

Thanks for all the compliments everyone.

horrorhunter - I actually got a couple of posters made from shutter fly, they looked okay, but not great. I'll have to check out some other places to see about posters when I have time. I had a couple of books made by them, too. The books I liked, they looked pretty good. But in the meantime here's a pic I took of an Aurora Hunchback model...

It really is fantastic work, Monolith!

I ran out of room for posters a long time ago, but I'm sure there would be a market for images of this caliber. The book is a great idea, or maybe just a few prints that people could store in a binder. I know we could just print off our own but those of us with ink jet printers would burn through a lot of ink (& money) really quickly. It would be much more economical to have them printed up in quantity and offer them singly, or in a group, with enough of a markup to cover your time and trouble. I know you wouldn't want to gain the attention of Uni and their cadre of blood-sucking lawyers but if just offered on UMA it should go under the radar...that is if you were inclined to go to the trouble of trying to sell them in the first place.

That brings up an interesting question: Would Uni go after someone selling images of toys of their copyrighted characters?

If anyone would it would probably be Uni and Toho. A small time seller would probably just get a Cease And Desist, but if someone were selling a crapload of verboten images on evilBay the witch-hunting lawyers may attack with torture devices at the ready.
