Just got back from seeing this, and I was impressed!! They nailed the characters. The script was great with lots of puns and in-jokes. They did a few homages to the original shorts as well. It had a decent storyline that fit the Stooges quite well.

Mike, I saw the trailer with the bodacious nun and such. How risque is it?

The scene where she comes up out of the pool has been excised from the final cut. They show her sitting in the lifeguard's chair but that's about it. Besides Sofia Vergara's ample bosom there isn't any risque stuff. The showing I went to had a wide audience from kids to the elderly.

I noticed they stopped showing that scene in the TV spots right after they started advertising it as being rated PG.

Just got back from seeing it. Me of all people who don't like remakes thought this was great. It was a tribute to the 3 Stooges. The producers did thier homework on this one. It was really funny and there were a couple of times I had to remind myself they were not the real Larry, Moe and Curly. I wish I could say  the same about Dark Shadows.

Steve, I have fond memories of watching Dark Shadows as a kid when it originally aired. I, too was dismayed at the previews of the Depp film. I think if I approached it as a Mad magazine style parody I may enjoy it. I'm still on the fence about it....

I thought it was great as well. All 3 of them were dead-on, their voices, mannerisms, everything. Good story also. My early favorite for best picture Oscar..............well, maybe I'm stretching that a little bit. Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk!

I have good memories as well. I couldn't watch it all the time because I lived in New Mexico at the time and because of the time zone it came on at 2 in the afternoon and I went to school from 7:30am to 4:30 pm. We had long days so i only saw it in the summer and when I had school vacation or was home sick. I am so torn on Dark Shadows. I want to like it but I am not looking for a comedy. I was hoping for character update with Tim Burtons lavish sets like his vision of Gotham City in Batman Returns. I strongly suspect I will be disappointed. It won't deliver like the 3 Stooges did.

Maybe next time the Farrelly's could do a new Lugosi/Karloff team up movie?!

Or maybe a new Poe/Vincent Price movie?

How about taking a stab at a new Abbott and Costello feature!!

There are so many great acts/actors out there that they could hire copycats of and make new films with them, hell if all else fails they could always just film a block of wood and call it a new Keanu Reeves movie!
