To finish up, here are a couple shots of Sao Paulo near my hotel:

Here is a famous art museum on Paulista Ave.  It has a pretty nice collection, including works by Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, Bosch, and many other top-tier artists.

And finally we have this odd mascot on Paulista Ave.  I'm not sure what he was advertising.  Martial arts lessons?  I got a kick out of seeing him every day.

Whoa, look at those photos! Coffin Joe overload. :o

Raymond, it's very cool that you're making all these connections in Brazil. Your name and your work is getting spread around, you have a pretty friend/potential love interest who is a lawyer, and you can even speak and understand quite a bit of Portuguese. You may laugh now, but you know, one day you may very well become our loss and Brazil's gain...

Congratulations again, Raymond! Você está aparecendo, e não está desaparecendo.

Thanks Raymond, those pics were awesome!

I noticed you and Mojica have different medalions?  Please forgive my ignorance as I have only seen very little of Coffin Joe.  Does he wear different ones in the movies and do the symbols on them mean anything?  Just curious and with all this going on, you have peaked my interest in these movies.

I'm sorry I did not answer this sooner.  Yes, Mojica and I are wearing different medallions.  Mine is just something I bought at a costume shop.  It was the best I could find back in 2004 when I put together my costume.  (Yes, the costume I wore at the premiere was the one I made, not one provided by the studio.)  Mojica is wearing the authentic prop medallion from the film.  Coffin Joe's medallion has changed over the years.  He did not wear a medallion in the first two films.  He started wearing it in the third film, The Strange World of Coffin Joe.  He wore the same medallion in the fourth film, Awakening of the Beast.  The medallion changed in Black Exorcism and changed again (I think) in Hallucinations of a Deranged Mind.  The one he wears in the current film is brand new.

No problem Ray, this is a big forum and things can get overlooked easily.  Thanks for replying!

Ray, what a blast you must have had! You'll be in afterglow for months to come.
Thanks for posting the pics.

Hey Ray! What happened to the other medallions? Does he still have them or are they at a museum somewhere?

I don't know.  I kind of doubt he has them, or else he would wear them now and then.

Yeah, he probably doesn't. If I remember correctly, he had one of the old costumes on display at the Zé do Caixão Museum, but the medallion on it was new and looked completely different from those used in the films.

I heard from Livia in Brazil Saturday.  She e-mailed me to tell me she opened a magazine and saw my face inside.  Then she took the subway to work and saw me again!  She took a picture to show me.  This is part of some kind of big display (she called it an "exhibit") they have set up in the subway to promote the film.

So every day on her way to and from work, there I am.  There is no escaping my all-seeing gaze.
