Like, Mattel presents Ken as Barnabas Collins fruity. I hope I didn't give them an idea.

That's frickin' hilarious, Bob!!

What I want to see is a Barbie Psycho set, with Barbie as Marion Crane, and Ken as Norma Bates.

Did anyone catch the new trailer or clip which aired last night during some show?

Do you mean the one with the Alice Cooper joke at the end?

Very, very disappointed in t he Dark Shadows trailer. It shows no respect for the work that has gone into the original series or in the 1990's remake. Its more like a Mad magazine style spoof of Dark Shadows. I will pass this one by.

But hope is not lost. I recently found a recently produced comic book series:

which is written very well and well illustrated on Dark Shadows which picks up where the TV series left off. Both the writer and artist demonstrate a respect and capture the atmosphere and aesthetic of the original series. For those unhappy wit the recent movie, this is a more than ample alternative.

I've watched the trailer a number of times now hoping to find some glimmer of hope for this film but I can't find any.  Upon repeat viewing, while trying to separate myself from the anger of what they've done to the iconic characters of the original, I realized that the humor is lowbrow.  Just bad writing.  More the sort of thing you'd expect to find in Porky's.  Examples: Angelique putting her panties on Barnabas' face.  Angelique flashing her boobs.  The crazy sex scene where the room is destroyed.  Angelique sliding her butt on the piano keys. Angelique licking him with a forked lizard tongue.  The kiss my butt thing.  The other jokes are just lame.  "Are you stoned?"  "That's the ugliest woman I've ever seen."  "Burn, Baby, Burn."  And by the way, "Disco Inferno" didn't come out until 1976.  This should have been called Dark Porky's.  It's really no wonder the DS fans are upset.

Can we just, for the sake of brevity, shorten it to 'Dorkies'?

It would look better on the poster.  Oh dear, I feel the need for a Photoshop session.   :)

The trailer is some unholy/ unfunny/ unscary/ fantasy/ horror/ gothic/ comedy/ conditioner/ shampoo combo of Paul Lynde as Uncle Arthur on Bewitched MEETS Austin Powers.

That's what I've been saying, Facto. It's one thing to twist a drama into a comedy (a choice debatable on its own), but if that's your tack, you better REALLY make it funny...

The problem is, it's a Tim Burton version of Dark Shadows.  I've enjoyed Burton's take on "Sleepy Hollow", "Ed Wood", "Mars Attacks", and worlds of his own creation.  When they announced a "Batman Film" in the late 1980's, I really wanted to see "The Killing Joke".  Burton's "Batman" was more a Burton movie, then a Batman Film.  I also didn't care for his takes on Alice and Wonderland (which Burton said was really "Underland"), or turning Willy Wonka into Michael Jackson.  The trailer for me falls apart when Barnibus is told the year.  For those who think that Burton's film will be the last word on the subject, "Batman" was rebooted, despite the fact Buton's film did great boxoffice.  I'll go see it as a Burton movie, but to me, this film is nothing like the Dark Shadows of either the soap opera or 80's reboot, and like "Alice in Wonderland" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", will most likely be for me a onetime viewing.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?
