I know the 18" differ from the smaller versions...but there were two versions of the Frankenstein Monster...one more green and one on the grey side? Also were there two series? It seems that there was a second series in which they addes the Bride then? I am just trying to discern the differnces...thanks all...John

It sounds like you are just talking about the Universal series, not the original generic Telcos.  Frankenstein did come in green first, then gray in the second series.  Mummy and Bride were added in the second series.  Some versions were also shorter and skinnier than others.  I've heard there is a difference in the sounds they make, but I'm not sure about that.

Is there one rarer than the other?

Gray Frank and Drac are rarer than the earlier versions.  Bride is rarer than Frank, Drac, WM or Creature.  Mummy is the rarest of all.  These came in 17-inch battery operated and 21-inch electric versions.  The big ones are rarer than the small ones.  The big Bride has become very hard to find in recent years.  The big Mummy has always been super rare.  Only a handful of big Mummies are floating around out there.  When they sell, it's usually a private transaction.  Someone at Wonderfest was actually telling me about how he sold a big, boxed Mummy.  I think he got many thousands for it.

Hi, I'm looking for but haven't been able to find a 22" version of the Creature with a square base - were those made? Or were they only made with the circular base?

Welcome to the UMA, ascalia53!  :)

A 22" 120v Creature was made! I have one my own self. ;D  They turn up on eBay, once in a while. Not as often as the batt op ones, but you won't have to wait all that long.

Oh boy, didn't realize it would be that much...did the Mummy ever have a 22" version?

It did, and it is unfortunately much, much rarer than the Creature. Due to the crossover nature of the collecting base - motionette collectors and monster collectors - that large size pug in version of the Mummy has sold for as much as sixteen times  the Creature. Yep, eight grand unused in the box. Even loose, it's still in the multiple thousands.

I hate crossovers! It's what keeps me from getting a Creature PEZ.  :(
