Watched this the other day and enjoyed it!  While not without its flaws (some kind of context of time for one) it really had a great vibe and the DS characters transitioned to the screen well!

Meant to post this query before; Has anyone else noticed that the wolf howls heard in this flick are also used in Mad Monster Party?  At least I'm pretty sure that's were I recognized the howls from and it was rather distracting for me, everytime I'd hear it during House of Dark Shadows I would start thinking about Mad Monster Party!

I don't know about Mad Monster Party, but the wolf howls in House of Dark Shadows were exactly likes the ones used on the daily show.

So which came first the use in Dark Shadows or Mad Monster Party?  Mad Monster Party although released in '67' was probably finished well before that release date.  I haven't watched a lot of Dark Shadows so I'm not sure when the howl first appeared?!

Yes, yes we are but whoever comes up with the answer of exactly which Dark Shadows episode they started using the wolf howl in, at what point it was added as a sound effect in Mad Monster Party and when/where the original recording took place will be the Uber Geek!!!

It's a stock sound effects recording. Not sure which effects library it's from, but it's not the BBC Radio collection. We had that in my college. It was awesome, because it had all these sound f/x from "Doctor Who"!

It's a pretty good bet the wolf howl recording was used when Barnbabas Collins was resurrected from his chained coffin. That was in either April or May of 1967.
