Except Arte Johnson is 85.

Yeah, I know, but I had the idea in the 1980s. He'd have been fine then. I mean Howard. He just always reminded me of Moe, physically.

I guess he could play Old Moe in flashback/flashforward scenes!

I'm sorry.  I love the 3 Stooges and DO HATE poor copies----------but my eyes are tearing after watching that clip.  I LOVED it.  I think as soon as I here the 'goink!' eye-poke noise, I lose it!  They LOOK and SOUND pretty damned good.  And it takes a lot for me to say that----because I'm a Stooges fan and am pretty stingy with my approval.

I don't know what it is about the trailer-------but I want more.

As for the Stooge snobs among us:  If it's bad it's bad---and I'll BURY it if it is bad---but to NOT give it a shot?  REALLY?  It looked at least good enough to give it a shot.

And let's be honest... what 3 Stooges 'Storyline' ever mattered?  In my house, we cared about the short just having enough carpentry tools.  And the eye-poke total.  That's what mattered.  I also liked Larry getting his hair ripped out.

And now pardon me while I go watch that trailer again... and it has NOTHING to do with the HOT nun! ::)

A new-twist Stooges "game" (if you can call it that) we play is Watch Larry. If you tune out most of everything-just enough to follow the plot-and concentrate on Larry, it can be a side-splitting experience. 90% of his schtick is reaction to the other two or the situation at hand, and when he does say something, it's freakin' hilarious.

That's fantastic.  We would watch the guy who just got hit for a few extra moments----sometimes you could see that he really got hurt, but they just kept going.  Once, Shemp burned his hand on an iron----and he held it curled up close to his side well after the gag was done.  I had NO doubt he really burned it.

One thing I noticed about Larry was that he had EVERYONE'S lines memorized, word for word.  I noticed that when the 3 boys were gathering around in a huddle, going back and forth-----Larry was mouthing EVERYONE'S lines until it was HIS turn to speak.  What a PRO.  If you hadn't noticed it before (though I'm sure you have), watch for it.  It IS hilarious. ;)

I wouldn't call wanting to see Moe/Shemp/Curly Howard, Larry Fine, Joe Besser or Joe DeRita instead of a bunch of wannabes being a Stooge snob.

No it doesn't, it looks like exactly what it is, a cheap imitation of a classic original!  What's next a new Abbott and Costello movie without Bud and Lou?  I still stand by my previous comment(s) this is/was an awful idea and anyone that goes to see it deserves what they get!

Well, it sure sounds like it was an awful idea to let YOU know about it.  Golly.  Maybe I shouldn't enjoy it at all.  WAIT.... I do!  ;D

Heavens to MERGATROID!  They tried to make a 3 Stooges Movie without the guys who are all DEAD!   ::)

And therein lies the pointlessness of it all, the 3 Stooges are dead, this is just a cheap imitation!!  I probably (and that's a big probably) wouldn't mind this if they were doing characterizations of the characters instead of characterizations of the actors themselves; Much like Shemp, Curly, Curly Joe and Joe were all doing the buffoon of the group but in there own style!  You could easily do the Stooges three personality types without trying to be Moe, Larry and Curly the actors.

It's clear you won't be seeing this.  Will it kill you... if other people enjoy it anyway? What will be pointless when that happens?

Correct!  It is pointless and will be a piece of garbage, the only good thing is it will make people want to relive the real Stooges instead of crappy-subpar imitations of them.

Nope, it won't be my wasted money!  It is obvious to me that some people enjoy bad movies, I'm sure not every movie that I enjoy is considered the best out there.

I dunno but it may confirm the end of the world is near!!

Thanks so much for pointing out the pointlessness.  I was enjoying things too much.  You're right------it's better to feel your way, Erin.

If Moe Howard could rise from the grave (how cool would THAT be?!?)  :o and address his most ardent supporters---those fighting the never-ending battle of preserving the 3 Stooges the way THEY so passionately believe it MUST be done, he might say:

Anything I can do to help!! C:)  Just trying to save you the wasted time and heartache! ;D  As far as Moe "Shatner" Howard's comment I have a life, a pretty nice one at that :D and I'm guaranteed that it will continue on since it is one that will never include this shame of a movie! :-X

Opinions vary.  From the Urban Dictionary:

Snob

A snob is someone who thinks they've got better taste than others in most things; especially in music, film and books.

Snobs of this kind, frown upon bestsellers, blockbusters, and pop music. They regard themselves intellectuals and think of people who follow the crowd as philistines.

Matt: Hey man, I'm going to the flicks tonight with Emma and a couple of her work friends, wanna come?

Giles: What are you watching?

Matt: A Night At The Museum.

Giles: Nope, thanks. I couldn't sit for two hours watching crap.

Matt: Suit yourself snob!

Sorry.  I just found that funny.  No offense, Erin.  To each his own. ;D

This reminded me of that fabulous 70s anti-prejudice commercial where the kid can't understand why his buddy said he was prejudiced.

Sorry, couldn't resist.  All in good fun. ;D ;D ;D
