"The Unknown Primate who Defied Death" (2011)
From the Land of Shadows he came, a savage beast that even death itself could not tame!

Damn, Karen - that kinda gave me chills!  In a groovy way!

Zombiology - that was a good one!

RRW - Man!  That was off the chain!  And I will tell him "hello" - then we'll swing by your house for some monster movies!

Hope this isn't in bad taste or too disturbing for some - it was a very serious matter.

But it was Halloween and I had to scare someone!  Might as well be the nurses!

It's really weird to see you in that hospital bed, because you look like you're full of beans and acting like we all normally do...and you have very healthy looking skin and you seem bright eyed! and maybe a little bushy-tailed!  Wow!! You look amazing for a guy who went through hell! UP, I think you must have a strong will and a positive outlook on life, because I have been in a way less serious hospital situation and I was a miserable cry-baby!
I am so glad to see a recent picture of you as well! We are all so grateful that you are getting better every day- and you can share your story with us. It could have been any of us that this happened to and if G_d forbid, any one of us has a heart attack ....... you can be the one to talk us through it. Your knowledge and experience can be a real blessing someday to someone that's not as strong as you have been through this ordeal!  :)  I don't want to be all sappy, but you really make us all smile and you were certainly missed when you were not hanging around here! So keep it slow and steady UP.

Moonshadow

Love that pic! Good to see you (even under those conditions) still being a wild beast.  As many have said, it hasn't been the same around here without you. So do what you need to do to get better, and if you need to vent or let off some steam, you know you can tell your fellow army-mates about it.

bigbud

Ha! Great picture, Mark!

Fester

So lifelike . . .

You can almost hear Colin Clive shouting "Its Alive!!!"

Which is probably better than hearing Tim Curry shouting "Oh Rocky!" ;D

ChattyLMS

Actually Fester, I was thinking "It's Alive!" by Gene Wilder.

UP, you're looking good!  But you've gotta quit messing with the nurses.  Watch it, they'll give you a shot.
Laura ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

CreepysFan

YEAH....that's our primate, scaring the crap out of those nurses.   >:D  Cool your gonna get a replay on Halloween too.  Just take care and follow the Doc's advice, maybe the Golden Gorilla will back terrorizing the countryside.

Otherwise the next pic you post may look like this.

Hey, how many freaking gowns did they strap to you?  They do not make those things for the Big & Tall among us. ;)

Unknown Primate

Sean - That gown looked like a frickin' bed sheet!  It was huge!  Probably originally used for glandular cases, :D.

CreepysFan - That's a blast from the past - actually, my wife is having several 8x10's printed up of me in my "heel" days.  She's cleaned some up and found some higher quality pics of The Golden Gorilla.  My handful of "fans" (who are awesome, extremely intelligent & really groovy) have requested some autographed photos.  They could, one day, be worth one or two dollars!

Gang - When my wife tried to take my pic in the hospital, I HAD to strike a familiar pose!  Believe me, I rarely felt this enthusiastic!  Knowing my UMA pals would perhaps see this pic, brought out the Monster in me!

Though I've grown a bit cynical over the years, I originally was a pretty optimistic beast!  I know this isn't the Music thread, but if I may, I'd like to post two songs by Gordon Lightfoot that always inspired me.  They're both from the 1976 album, SUMMERTIME DREAM.  Not everybody's cup of tea, musically - but the words got me through some tough times.

Gordon Lightfoot - Race Among the Ruins

And this one - It's a little hard to pity & trust the strangers at our doors these days, but at one time...

Thanks for indulging me.

I 've been in the extra-humongous gowns before, too. (Although I'm a metabolic case, not glandular.) Yeah, those things are fun, aren't they? I can just never get used to having half my anatomy exposed in those things!
