Remember Billy Van?

Here's a short video on the great comedian gone to soon. A guy with an enormous talent who deserved a much better and bigger career, who never had the real chance to display his full potential.
Accessible, gentle and so generous, it's almost like you know him personally.

I used to absolutely love The Hilarious House of Frightenstein in the 70's.  Wonderful stuff.  I never knew when it was going to be on, but when I saw that it was on, I was watching it.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

I LOVED House of Frightenstein, with Blilly Van, Billy Van, Billy Van, Billy Van, etc. (I have the three DVD set) It was Can-Con, so it had a huge life-span. While the comedy was uneven at times, overall it did a great job of both adding to and lampooning the field of "children's entertainment". Parents concerns could be mollified with the 'educational" bits like Zany Zoo, Dr. Pet Vet or Dr. Julius Sumner Miller (physics experiments! cool!, while kids could get hip and/or corny humor from Griselda, the Wolf Man and the Count himself! Add to that some really good make-up jobs and a ton of monster jokes, and you have an ideal package for a monster kid!

Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

Yup, I was a big-time "Frightenstein" fan. Only within the past few years did I learn of his career outside of "HHOF" and, sadly, his death. Can you still get the "Frightenstein" DVD's, Pauspy? Could you post a link? Other Van fans might want them, too.

"Gory, gory Transylvania..."

Good childhood memories. Billy Van was a genius.
