I have heard about ths flick, seen it for sale, but it does not appear to come in english? Is this right? It looks like it would be kind of cool and I would love to score a copy.

I rented it last winter from NetFlix & it was in English-

Over the winter I was looking to see as many based on or inspired by
H.P. Lovecraft films as I could & this one turned up on a few lists...

I can see a bit of a "Shadow Over Innsmouth" influence w/the fishmen
(who are pretty cool looking, btw) and a few other things but I thought the movie
had more of a Jules Verne &/or H.G. Wells feel to it-

Still, well worth a watch

All the versions I found on ebay dont seem to be in english, unless I am not reading the listing right.

Try looking for it under the title "Screamers," too. That's it's original US-release title.

After a little digging, it appears that "Screamers" was released on VHS in '83, but has never been released on DVD. The Italian-dubbed cut, "Island of the Fishmen," is all that's available on DVD, it seems. Avid FM readers might remember its ad campaign that boasted "You will actually see a man turned inside-out!"

The English-dubbed "Island of the Fishmen" is available on Turner Classic Movies' website, along with its 1995 sequel, "The Fishmen and Their Queen." Roger Corman's 1982 recut, "Screamers," with additional gore effects by Chris Walas, is still M.I.A.

this is a cool italian flick. I never knew there was a sequel-how cool!
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!
