Any kid who loved firing off caps with a six gun had to like these Atlas western comics as well:

Continuing with the Old West theme, here are some scans from my set of Western Round-Up cards that Topps released in 1956:

In keeping with the Cowboy Western theme this is one of my favorites......This is a Mattel Indian Scout Rifle and Bandolier Set.  This is a Shootin Shell rifle produced in 1958 by Mattel. It's a very nice single load-single shot rifle. Lots of photos............

Cool! I'm guessing that a fellow would stick the Greenie Stick-M-Caps on the back of the shell. How far do you think the bullets would shoot?

Word is 10-15 feet...............you didn't expect me to load one up did ya, Hep? I always end up busting something when I do that..........

This is a 1953 Buddy L Spitfire Machine Gun. Over 2 feet long and weighs over 2 lbs.   Combines plastic with plated steel and aluminum. Has a drop down cap loader, and also makes a nice rat-a-tat sound when you turn the crank. Bi-pod folds under when needed..........

Wouldn't the cops freak if you went toolin' down main with that beast in tow!

bigbud

Yea, that air-cooled section over the barrel gives it a lethal look...............

Here are scans of some of my Freedom's War cards in panel form that Topps released in 1950:

Love those Korean War cards! My Pop flew Corsairs and F6Fs off carriers in Korea and WWII.

Packy...always loved Corsair model kits. Especially the Monogram 1/48 with it's working features.........

Think I already showed the Mattel  Planet of the Apes bolt-action machine gun...this is Mattel's POTA Rapid Fire rifle from 1965. This is a combination old-West rifle with a round bullet magazine as on machine guns. It fires loudly as you pull the trigger. Most notable is the "weathered" bronze finish applied to Mattel's POTA guns....really spectacular, but didn't go over extremely well with the kids back then. Each bullet on the underside of the magazine has "Mattel 38 SPL" on it.......
