Sometimes them nasties come crawlin', sometimes crashin' right through town, and sometimes from the sky in them round saucer shaped thingies! In that case what is needed is the Hubley Atomic Disintegrator Pistol! 2 full pounds or Sci-Fi metal art! Hubley only made one space related gun, and wow, what a gun it is! Pulling the rod next to the barrel opens the cap mechanism. Arguably the greatest space pistol ever made! Circa 1954...........excuse the pics.....didn't want to disturb this deadly disintegrator while resting in it's case........

This is a Marx International Agent playset. Really neat. This is in the store display box.

Dang Buddy, another cool set ... are toy guns what you have most of?

bigbud

No... I don't think so, but toy guns are the area of collecting I am most interested in. If I were a real serious toy gun collector there would be a problem....the cowboy guns alone could keep me scramblin' for years!  Comics were my main thing, but those days are gone. The collection funded early retirement, and comics are no longer easy to find...the good ones. Everyone knows they have great value, while at the same time few understand condition is everything. Got tired of all that.     Buddy

I can't even imagine what your collection would look like if you were a "real serious toy gun collector". I mean, could you even find a house big enough to contain them all. One thing's for sure, it would be very well protected.

Ha! It would take a day or more to empty my labyrinth. Always worried about theft, or fire. Ya just gotta roll with what comes. For insurance purposes, getting as many items photographed and safely deposited on Photobucket is smart business. That's why I post so many of my items....I keep taking pics, and want to share the cool stuff with you guys, my friends..........Buddy

Those haven't been easy to find for at least 35 years.

Yes, everybody who finds an old comic in an attic thinks that it's NM because the cover isn't completely detached, and accordingly they think it's "worth" the highest price.

The words that set off an alarm with me during a conversation were, "The comics are in great shape for their age".  I remember bringing along a truly NM Golden Age comic on one trip just to show the people with the "great shape" comics that  a comic CAN be in just-printed condition no matter what it's age. And to point out that their 20 year newer comics were rags in comparison. Never had much effect....."CBG says $400 mint condition, I want $400....it's rare!....try to find another one!"  I always did, or went without. I often found that dealing with the most knowlegable comic dealer was easier than the lady that found her son's comics stashed in a top closet shelf.

Yes, the annoying old great shape for its age expression. Worse yet was the "Well its mint for its age" statement. It's as if they all become used car dealers as soon as they get their hands on a comic.

And Hep....how about when the deal has gone down and they lay the " I'm so glad they are going to someone who is a collector and not a dealer" line of junk on you. That, after having bargained like a used car dealer to squeeze every available penny for the comics. They have little interest, little knowledge and no honest sentimentality for the books what-so-ever....just a hand stretched out saying give me, give me, give me........and I'm suppose to believe my being a collector does their generous little hearts good....Ha!
