Wasn't there an animated series sometime in the seventies?  I remember it wasn't that bad.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

There was a Lone Ranger cartoon that debuted in 1966 and another one, produced by Filmation, that debuted in 1980 within the "Taran/ Lone Ranger/ Zorro Adventure Hour." That series was released on BCI/Eclipse DVD in two volumes as "The New Adventures of The Lone Ranger and Zorro" and both are out-of-print and rather pricey to obtain. I have Vol. One. I remember seeing Vol. Two on the shelf at Best Buy for $26.99, which I thought was far too expensive, but now it goes for much more than that if you can find it.

I have the 75th Anniversary DVD of the first two seasons of the TV show, and it includes a couple of episodes of the 1966 cartoon show, however I don't know if more episodes were included on the Complete Collector's Edition set released last year.

Well, being the cheapskate I am, it wasn't till yesterday that I Redbox'd The Lone Ranger movie. As expected, crazy explosions, unbelievable escapes from certain death, and a plot lost to the fore mentioned. I found one moment that had me laughing....when LR rears Silver and yells "Hi-Yo Silver Away!" and Dep as Tonto, in a startled manner, says "Don't ever do that again!". Now that was funny. My big hope is there won't be a sequel by these same guys. Once again, let's give it 20 or 30 years and try again.

Make that 20 or 30 years after I'm dead, if you please.
We're all here because we're not all there.

I used to watch the Sixties animated cartoon, and have that 75th anniversary set.  (Some nice bonus goodies in that!)  It was great getting to see some of those cartoons again.  I also have that set of the color episodes from the Clayton Moore series, released in a package designed to look like a saddle bag.  Didn't know about that Complete Collector's Edition set, though.  May have to put that on my Christmas list!
