What order should my 7 year old view the Star Wars saga?

frankenstein73

Definately watch them in the order they were released. That's the way we all fell in love with them and that's the way my kids have fallen in love with them too.
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

I agree with frankenstein73!!

I'd probably do release order as well; If they hang with the older flicks then they'll probably be fine with the over the top-video game aspect of the newer trilogy (which is probably more what they are used to) but on the other hand if you show them the prequels first they may find the original trilogy boring.....even with Lucas' CGI tinkering!

Take the prequels and dump them in the nearest trash can. That easily solves any problem regarding viewing order!  ;D

I second that.

Go with release order. Same thing with the Raiders films.
On a related note,  I think its a bit sad we never found out what happened to Short Round.

Sure we did! He moved to the goon docks in Astoria Oregon. Went searching for one eyed willie. Made BOOTY traps, fought and helped capture the Fratellis, and saved the neiborhood from the evil expanding country club!

If that fit in the timeline I'd be willing to accept than answer! Even with Asians having a tendency to look younger than they are, I don't think that jives.

Perhaps Short Round moved to America, became an inventor and spawned a Goonie.

Since Episode I (and almost II and III) do not exist in my little twisted universe, go with IV-VI like we saw as kiddos.

I, II, III could be better films if George would just tinker with them like he did the original trilogy;

Phantom Menace; take out Jar Jar-put anything in his place or maybe just redo his voice?  For the love of the Jedi wipe out any reference to Anakin as "Annie".

Attack of the Clones; Way to many over the top "video game" sequences; Padme running thru that factory, Obi Wan riding that lizard around...I'm sure there are others but I don't recall.....

Revenge of the Sith; Jedi are killed way to easy in this film, they only pull off a couple of moves before they are just wiped to the floor.

For I-III; redo all of those silly accented voice overs, I'd much prefer reading subtitles than hearing these silly vocals.  Take out all the attempts at cartoon humor; the original series had its comical moments without really trying to have them, something sorely lacking from I-III.  Ton down some of those cities/ships; You can definitely tell the technological differences between the two films making IV-VI look like they should take place eons before I-III instead of I-III being set 20 (or however many years it's supposed to be) before the others.

Of course the easy answer is just don't watch them but today's youth don't have the advantage of only having 3 films they'll know Star Wars as a sextuplet and sad to say some of them may even enjoy I-III more than IV-VI.

I'm willing to accept that.
