Hey all, I don't know if there is a discussion already about this.  I couldn't find it, if so.

I am just curious though, what are your top 3 favorite monsters of all time?

Mine are probably...

Gamera
The Gillman
King Kong

And I guess I'll throw out a few runners up, Hellboy, Swamp Thing, the Ymir, Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman/ An American Werewolf in London, the Rhedosaurus, Godzilla, the Molemen, The Predator, the Aliens, Brundlefly, the giant bear from The Prophecy, Gwoemul (the monster from The Host) the insects from Mimic, Nomac from Blade 2, Pumpkinhead, Two Face from TDK, the demon from Curse of the Demon, Verthimax Pejorative (the dragon from Dragonslayer) and the insects from Starship Troopers.

70alt1

Godzilla
Gremlins
Cloverfield

Not exactly golden oldies for the last two, but I still love 'em.

Pauspy

The Gillman
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms
The Metaluna Mutant

Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

You know, I have always felt bad for the Metaluna Mutants...they were essentially slaves like the Mole People  :(

Unknown Primate

KING KONG
FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER
THE WOLF MAN

Also, The Cyclops (7th Voyage Of Sinbad), Talos (Jason & The Argonauts), Godzilla, Ymir, Kharis, Gill Man, The Thing, Frankenstein's Teenage Monster (just do, for some reason) & The Aztec Mummy.

Needless to say, there are many more.

I agree. At least the Mole People had the movie named after them. The poor ol' mutants weren't even given that, and were compared to "earth insects" too. I think they deserve space on a talk show...is Oprah willing to come back and to a special?
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

zombiehorror

Hmmm.....I'll make it a little easier on myself by doing 3 classic and 3 modern:

Classic; Frankenstein, The Wolfman and Creature (runner up the Phantom)
Modern; Freddy, Leatherface, Tar Man Zombie (runner up Pinhead)

I love how all of our lists thus far are wildly different  ;D

Illoman

Dracula, Wolfman and Frankenstein's monster.

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Phantom Stranger

Wow, I'm surprised to see The Gillman on most of these lists.  I mean, I know he's popular, I just didn't know he's THAT popular!  That's awesome!!  ;D

I like ZH's format, so I'll borrow it:

Classic: Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man

Modern: Count Yorga, Blacula, Nosferatu

"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Illoman

I think Nosferatu pre-dates your three classic ones!  ;)

All the mon-stars in Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein
