We've lost our second Sinbad in less than a year.  John Phillip Law, 70, has died.

As much as I've enjoyed all of the Harry Hausen films, THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD was always a favorite.  I think the casting for GOLDEN was superior to that of the other two Harryhausen Sinbads.  Of course, Law had another genre role in BARBARELLA, but for me, he'll always be Sinbad.

He was the best screen Sinbad and a spectacular Diabolik.  It's too bad for us that he couldn't stay a while longer.

I agree, the best Sinbad.  I liked him in the over-the-top potboiler HURRY SUNDOWN, too (with Jane Fonda again, as he was as the blind angel in BARBARELLA), and in the multi-starred comedy THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING! THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!  Too young to leave us!

RIP John Phillip Law, a great actor, and a fantastic Sinbad.

Mr. Law also starred in a pretty good WWII film with a young Mel Gibson called Attack Force Z.
