I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this Wrigley's product yet:

It's a real chaw when you want a mouthfull! Here's the story behind its invention and development:

Here's one for grape fanatics:

Delicious, although not as good as penny grape gumballs from a vending machine.

Anyone ever try this Breyers Bubble Yum ice cream while it was around ?  Never saw it before, or even knew it existed.  I do like the Baskin Robbins bubble gum ice cream.

Topps introduced this Ton o' Gum product in the early seventies for those tykes for whom a little bit of a good thing wasn't enough:

The packages were the size of a package of hockey cards and the wrappers in all their variants are now collected by the same fellows who collect trading card wrappers.

Here's one for Bigbud:

Topps launched the foot long ruler like packages of Big Buddy gum in the very early seventies. It eventually came in a number of flavours including cherry and grape.

Australia's foot-long bubble gum of the 70s was "Big Charlie". Blew great pink bubbles.

And wow, just found out that an Aussie ice-cream cowboy icon (with a bubble gum ball for a nose) did originate in the US:

I've never come across Bubble O"Bill in Canada but there's a SpongeBob SquarePants ice cream novelty on a stick where gumballs are used for the eyes.

I've read that the first soft bubble gum ever was Dubble Bubble's Sugar Loaf:

What?! Only fourteen miserable votes so far! And here I thought bubble gum was as American as baseball, hot dogs and apple pie and an integral part of every kid's life.

:o

Has a wave of Communism swept this board? Or has everybody just grown old all of a sudden?

Ally Sheedy said it best - "When you grow up, your heart dies".  Luckily I never grew up, so here I am.  Bubble Gum still rules.  Something us kids used to buy in South Carolina in the early Seventies and stick ALL OVER our school folders and books, were the Fleer Sticky Feet stickers.  This is another one that gum card dealers never seem to know about, and give you that look.

Bought some Jones Blue Bubble Gum soda yesterday and found a pic of Hep promoting it on the label.

Multi-coloured Dubble Bubble gumballs are sold in rolls in many convenience stores these days:

While they look pretty, they're definitely not as good as the big O-Pee-Chee penny gumballs that I used to buy in vending machines. The Dubble Bubble gumballs that are straight pink are the really good ones. They have the traditional spicy, sweet Dubble Bubble taste I remember.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen them sold in rolls. I've only seen them sold in quarter vending machines, which is quite the rip-off.
