all seemed to really suck because the originals were so good.

Halloween 3 does not apply, if only for the fact that parts were filmed at Don Post Studios, and utilized DP masks!

Things I Liked About "Halloween III: Season of the Witch":

1) The first draft script was written by Nigel Kneale (The "Quatermass" series) and quite a bit of his footprints are left on the story (the ancient Druid cult, the rock from Stonehenge, etc.). It's a crazy, original premise about an ancient order of Druids that still exist today planning the ultimate Samhain sacrifice of thousands of children on Halloween using modern technology and a bit of old world magic.
2) The fantastic electronic score by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth.
3) The three fantastic Don Post masks!
4) The amazing, addictive Sliver Shamrock theme!
5) Tom Atkins' schlubby, middle aged, hard drinking, divorced doctor (?!?!?) as an everyman hero who nails a girl half his age the first day he meets her and has a knack for getting out of tough spots like a movie serial character.

Things I hated about Halloween: Season of the Witch

The whole damn thing.....except the Masks...the masks were cool..

Is it the movie you hate or the fact that it's "Halloween III" and it's not a Haddonfield/Michael Myers film? Or does something in the film offend you in some way other than just "bad film making". Just curious.

Dr.Teufel Geist

Yeah, I didnt like seeing it the first time, because it wasnt Myers, and also cant stand Tom Atkins in that movie..
if the cast was different, then maybe I would have liked it...
Certain sound effects were annoying to.

Sound effects like this? "Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!"

hehehe

I can't help you with your misguided dislike of the great Tom Atkins.

Hey, I know "Halloween III" isn't everyone's cup of tea. It's an extremely schlocky B-movie that mostly appeals to lovers of offbeat and kooky movies. It might scare you to know that before "Halloween 3D" (the proposed follow up to Rob Zombie's reboots) was shelved, Tom Atkins had already been approached to star in it!

I agree and was just going to post that ..  ;D

I agree with Rod, but they either should have made the called it something else or went with Carpenter's original idea and made it as the 2nd one.

I've never seen this film but you've piqued my curiosity.  I just added it to my Netflix cue.

I saw Halloween III opening night and hated it. Not that much of it stands up to scrutiny, but I think the disregard of time zones at the end drove me over the edge.

But I saw it again in August with an audience that was really into it--as well as Tom Atkins--and had a great time.  Atkins said he hadn't seen it since the original release and had forgotten how crazy it was.

"How crazy it is" is a large part of the appeal of "Halloween III". I'm glad to see we've interested some newbies. They'll either become fans or be tortured for 90 minutes! It's hard to tell.

was that Tom Atkins in "Night of the creeps" to?

Radioactive Rod Whitenack

Heck yes, Tom "Thrill Me" Atkins was in "Night of the Creeps". He was also in "The Fog" and briefly in "Escape From New York" as well as "Maniac Cop" and many other B-movies right up until the present in films like "My Bloody Valentine 3D" and the upcoming "Drive Angry 3D". Most people likely know him from "Lethal Weapon".

Dr.Teufel Geist

I liked him in The Fog  :o   ....go figure one out of ????
