Problem is you posted the link to the gallery instead of the individual image itself.

Thanks for fixing it! I'm new to this photo posting thing.

Easiest way to post photobucket pics here, is just copy the image line that starts with "[IMG]" and just paste that entire line in your post. also make sure it's on it's own line.

Wow! Nice job! I like the purple sky with that yellow moon... it works well.

My latest, a portrait of my friend Ian and his wife Julie. While I was painting this I found out she has pancreatic cancer. So any prayers on her behalf would be appreciated. This was done in oils, 12"x16".

Thanks,

Mike

First of all, that's an awesome portrait Mike!

I've been having a little nerve problem in my right hand. So, I'm sitting at the computer and I notice my granddaughter had left a small canister of Fun-doh (the dollar store equivalent of Play-doh) from her last visit. I started working the Fun-doh to see if it might relieve the pain in my hand. It didn't. But, I decided to try to shape it into Kong's head. The initial shaping took about 10-15 minutes. I realized he had no teeth AFTER he had dried for several days. Then I found some Fimo (like Sculpey) laying around and decided to try to sculpt some big ol' gorilla teeth. Then I painted it and this is the result. BTW I'm NOT a sculptor (I've only modeled clay one other time.) But it was fun enough for me to want to work with it again sometime in the future.  Thanks for looking.  He's about 2 & a half inches high.

Mike and Primate those are great.  Sorry to hear of her illness though Mike.

The talent in this group never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks, especially coming from such a talented person as yourself.

My prayers also go out to your friends, Ian & Julie.

Thanks one and all for the kind words, but more importantly thanks for the prayers on their behalf. I've always maintained that this board is made up of some of the best people on the planet!

Scatter, you kill me every time, LOL!  And, get this...  I DIDN'T EVEN USE A REFERENCE!!  KK's likeness is pretty much burned into my mind.  Actually, his jaw is lopsided, his brow's not thick enough, etc.  My daughter brought home a 5 lb. hunk of clay for me awhile back, so I guess I'm gonna attempt to try some more.
