Unknown Primate

While I'm on a Hairy Hominid roll, the following beast is going to Dr. Madd.  He hasn't even seen it yet, but gave me permission to post a pic.  Thought I'd keep Doc a little in the dark, so as not to totally spoil the whole thing.

Made with Aves Apoxie Sculpt and some odds and ends.  Counting the base, it's around 6 & 1/2 inches tall.

THE FLORIDA SKUNK APE!  Just finished this.  Based on Scatter and made with Aves Apoxie Sculpt, Sculpey and some odds & ends.  The base was from an old, broken Dracula Luminators kit I bought at a flea market.  Between 5 and 6 inches tall.  He's going up for sale soon.  Hope you enjoy.

Love the Yeti head, and the Glen Strange and Munroe portraits are awesome!

UP - where do you find the time?? You are one industrious artist my friend.
Monster lovers never grow old....

Wow!! Ms. Munroe looks so very beautiful- just as she looked in the movies! Outstanding artwork, my friend!
U.P.- Your creations make believers out of those of us who couldn't conjure up the images of these hairy monsters! I can even imagine what they might smell like- walking around with swamp water in their fur and such! You are such a hero to the hairy creatures! They probably have a statue of you in their lairs! Long Live Unknown Primate! Friend to those who time forgot!
You have the greatest spirit and are so much fun to us HU-MANS as well!
Dr. Madd- Yeti poop sounds delicious!!!!!

Dr. Madd

Man, oh man! That is one COOL Bigfoot. He's already got a prize place waiting on my monster curio shelf.

Thanks everyone!

Ben, I'm a "stay-at-home" Gigantopithecus, so I have more time than most to mess around with stuff.  It's honestly a great therapy /stress reliever...  and keeps me out of trouble.  ;)

Char, I'm sort of obsessed with BHM's (Big Hairy Monsters).  They're fun to create and I don't have to worry if they look real/accurate because I haven't seen one personally (except in the mirror).  Like I've said before, I'm no great sculptor, but I'm enthusiastic!!   ;D

Doc, thrilled you like it so far!

When you have the state police positioned outside your doors with tranq guns at the ready, yeah, "stay-at-home" is a nice euphemism.

Dr. Madd

Sounds like the dream I had. I manage, however to elude the angry mobs to get out to get supplies.

So here is one painting from last year, again in watersouble oils, of an old favourite from around here. Hope you like him!

Rainer, that looks great! Love the purples!

What's the brand name of those water soluble oils? Sounds like something I'd be interested in.

Sorry your life is not what you want it to be right now. I can relate. Just hang in there, brother.

Unknown Primate

Man, that is a fantastic Strange Frank!  Definitely missed seeing your work here.

BTW, what Illoman said, ditto from me.

Rainer- I could gaze upon your Glen Strange for hours & hours! It is so beautiful! I can't express into words how wonderful it makes me feel- the painting just gets me in the right spirit! I really love what you've done with the color and the details of his expressive face!
Anyway...I hope you get a break and things in your life go exactly the way you need them to go.  :)

Thanks Guys, your comments are really appreciated!

Illoman, here you go:

These two brands I'm using, the Artisan paints are the better, but also the more expensive ones.
And the more white your using, the longer they need to dry. But no odor!

Another one oil portrait done last year based on a scupture by Pete Murphy and a photo by John Allred:

Thanks again,
