I miss a day or two and there's always something great to come back to!

horror1o1! That's a very cool tattoo design! I'm digging that blue against the pumpkin orange! Do you draw any other designs?

Dan! Wow! Seven foot of amazingness! It must have taken you ages! Nope...I still can't see any roughness to the acrylic rendering, even in the close ups! That's incredible brushwork sir!

I'm getting used to handling acrylics and their superfast drying time on hot days.

Scatter! What a gal..what a gal! I'm jealous, you lucky devil!  ;D  I've seen the kit on eBay.com, but I didn't want to reveal to you how much your present costs!

Here's a link to my face book page's art album which you should be able to see everything cause i'm too lazy to post them all. There is the Devil's spray can, angry clown, sailor style rose, misfits skull which i drew buy hand looking at something, and a tiger lilly.  http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1214029435945.33539.1385092136&type=3

Thanks horror1o1!

I was getting "This content is currently unavailable." when I clicked on the link. I'm not on Facebook or plan to join up, if that's the problem.

Thank you very much Dan!

I forgot to ask you whether you had a favourite brand of acrylic paint. In my case I'm limited to budget so I use Daler-Rowney's System 3 when I can afford it.

horror1o1!!! Thank you Jon for the new link! Don't laugh but when I clicked on it... I just got the home page to myspace! But I put your link in Google and got there in the end!
My favourite from the gallery is the "Moko" pinup for "Pono Loa"! I keep going back to the one to check it out more closely.

Thanks!

Rowney's...I seem to remember that being a U.K. brand (I lived there during a teaching stint). Oh, and I guess your spelling of "favourite" gives you away, mate! When I was in grad school I was fortunate to win a grant from the Liquitex folks. The "grant" was just a boxful of acrylics, but it was enough to get me through the program. I still have some, but due to space consideration, I haven't painted lately.

OK, here are some of the acrylic paintings from a few years ago. These were part of the thesis work. They stared as being almost non-objective, but cartoony skeleton forms sometimes emerged. The challenge was the interplay of the "figure" with the textural, and more free-form background. I ended up working in flat colors because of the blending problem, as mentioned previously. Karloff they ain't! :(  Oh, and these are 4 x 5 feet.

Man, I really dig these!! They have a very "Jetson" feel to 'em.........and that's a VERY good thing!

Very nice. Upon first seeing these they remind me of the work of Mick Haggerty. I like the movement in them.
