Does ok, so long as I don't let it bake too long. Singed Max's ears.

Mark! That Barnabas is AWESOME! I really dig your style! Very cool!

And UP, those Creatures are damn cool!

I just got back from Spooky Empire down in Orlando and saw the burst of new art on here! Awesome stuff as usual everyone! Spooky Empire was a blast! A ton of amazing artists there too! My Alien print sold out (save for a small hand full of the mini poster size) and I got Linda Hamilton to sign one of my Terminator prints and she loved it which was really cool.

I just wrapped up a piece I started before I left. This is the first one in a Kubrick Suite that I am doing. This is my Clockwork Orange piece...

2001 and The Shinning are up next!!!

Many thanks UP and  creaturerevenge!

Dr. Madd! Orlock's great fun and I look foward to seeing the Reaper and Frankie! Is it easy to work with Sculpey as I've not seen the product here in the UK? I've only dabbled with Plasticine and Play-doh in my youth! :D

creaturerevenge! That's my favourite, with it's bold graphic design! I'll be fascinated to see your rendition of 2001, as it's one of my all time fave films, though not everybody's cup of tea!

Dr Madd, do you use anything as a base for your sculpts? I've heard of wadding up tin foil and using that as a base and sculpting your clay onto that. Do you have to bake the sculpey to dry it?

Dr. Madd

Markchro: I'm still getting a feel for the sculpey. It's a lot different than my beloved Marblex.

ILoman: Nope. My pieces stand on their own.

Using things like tin foil as a base inside Sculpey and other clays that you have to bake is actually really beneficial for a few reasons. It is less clay you have to use which is a cost saver (especially on larger pieces) but more importantly it allows for a thinner amount of clay over the whole piece which causes more even baking and shorter baking time. It will help keep parts of it from burning!

Haven't been able to paint for awhile, but just finally finished something I started in February! I've painted this portrait before, but this time I got the colors right. When I first painted this I was going by thirty year old memories, and those were of watching the Cool Ghoul's Scream-In in black and white. I've since made contact with his daughter and she told me his eye color, and I got his hat right this time.

Just put the finishing touches on my last 2 prints for my Kubrick Suite! To accompany the Clockwork Orange piece I posted above, here is my 2001 and my Shining pieces...

One of my best friends does all my print work for me and he is doing some experimenting with these to do a really cool run of them using florescent inks for a limited run in my online store! His print machines don't use florescents so he is taking a more hands on approach, but won't share many details with me yet. Knowing his other work though, they should be incredible!!! I'll post pictures when I get them from him!
