One of the best ways to get your art out there and really get a good following and make good money at it is to get representation in major markets (New York, L.A., Chicago, etc.) by a gallery that displays your work and brokers it for you. Sometimes its easier said than done, but if you can find the right fit with a gallery that really likes your stuff and deals in the right type of artwork, you can do really well and get you work seen by a LOT of people who are willing to spend good money on great art! There's a gallery in New Orleans a friend of mine is represented at who I am hoping to get my work represented by in the near future. A few years ago, pop culture art like ours didn't really have much of a market in the art world, and we were mostly limited to trying our hand and conventions and such, but thanks to the growing popularity of the "Lowbrow" art movement and magazines like Imagine FX and especially Juxtapoz (wither of which if you haven't picked up you REALLY should, they are really cool publications featuring the AMAZING artists) pop culture and horror art is starting to move more into a larger market. Create what you love long enough and eventually things catch up to you! I don't think any of us got into doing art for the money! We all paint and create because we love to do it, and our subject matter is the same way. I COULD paint nothing but landscapes, but I know I would get bored with it and it would show in my work. I don't paint monsters and movies and pop culture because it pays me, I paint it because I love it! And if you do that long enough, eventually the times will come around to you and it'll be your time to shine!
Do you like monsters? They're my only weakness...

My latest, "Tribute to the Cool Ghoul". Painted in tribute to and memory of the great Dick Von Hoene. Oddly enough I finished this today, and it's the 8th anniversary of his passing!

Mike, you just continue to amaze and impress!

Rainer- That is stunning! Your MM is one of the coolest drawings I've ever seen!
Dr. Madd- That mummy is fantastic! I can't wait to see the backdrop you create. You'll have to share your building materials/technique when you have the time. It looks like a real beauty :)

Dr. Madd

I will reveal this- The pieces are glued and wooden pegged together- Two in the mummy's feet(His leg broke during assembly, but I repaired and covered it up) The Walls will be four pieces made of clay and connected by wooden pegs and glue. The whole thing is made of clay, wood, gaze, cardstock.
