Good Lord, that is unreal! I want one, too!!!!  :'(  My wife would NOT pitch in to help. She might help to pitch ME out if I told her I was doing a 'monster room.' We can dream...

See I lucked out, I met my other half years ago when we worked at a movie theater together, and we really came together while we built our annual haunted house around Halloween, and our first date was to see the Invasion of the Body Snatchers remake, so our relationship was kinda built around monsters and horror. She's into collecting and building monsters just as much as I am (maybe even a little more in some areas...)!
Do you like monsters? They're my only weakness...

My VAMPIRELLA artist proof (original art) cards for the new Breygent trading card set.  I did list a link to the eBay auction for these in the for sale section -- but wanted to show 'em off here as well.

The Drunken Severed Head

Easily some of my favorites of your work! Great stuff, Terry!

Illoman

Just finished this one. I first saw the photo I used as reference a while back, but it was tiny. No one seemed to have a bigger scan of it. Then I came across a David Skal book that had a large enough version that I could paint from. He measures 3'x4' and was painted on what I jokingly call my "cursed canvas". I bought this large stretched canvas thirty years ago, and have painted about a dozen paintings on it, none of which turned out for me. This one gave me fits as well, and it was a real struggle to finish it.

Thanks,
Mike

Well this one definitely worked out! Beautiful work on it! I love the lighting and the color choices. Very cool piece Mike!

Beautiful Bela, Mike - looks like he's really standing right in front of you!
" Perhaps he dimly wonders why, there is no other such as I. "

Wow, I really enjoy your work, Illoman. It would be a visual feast to see a bunch of these together. I know my own work seems to gain something through proximity of the individual pieces (which rarely happens). I used to have my "studette" covered floor to ceiling with the charcoal drawings. I have a few of them on display in my office at work. The rest are stacked in a couple of portfolios (I'm not a very good custodian of my own stuff). Now the "studette" is papered with vintage movie posters since I sometimes grow weary of my drawings once I'm done with them. And heck, I can't compete with Reynold Brown. Cheers!

Jeezuzgawd, Creaturerevenge, that is an effing ALTAR! Makes my set-up look haphazard to say the least.

Illoman

Thanks everyone for the comments. I appreciate it.

Moonshadow

Wow, Mike, that Bela is just stunning! I love the expression and especially the classic contorted hands! Wonderful.

RICKH

Great painting Mike!  That image of Bela is really powerful.
Terry, I love the card drawings!
You can't kill the boogeyman.  Halloween (1978)

WOW... I always enjoy seeing your work, but this one is a real stand-out! Very powerful image complimented by an EXCELLENT choice of colors. Perfect pose for such a large portrait...Congrats!
