Goss, I am not a Nirvana fan, but I sure am a Gossamer fan!! Excellent portrait! I really like the color choices in this one. Great, great job!

charp13

Gossamer- Your portraits are fantastic!  I love both the b&w and the color! They are really alive with expression!

Mord

I'm a big Nirvana fan and you really nailed it.

jimm

Kurt, what a talent...Gossamer too!!

Gossamer

Thanks Illoman, Charp13, Mord and Jimm.  I tried really hard on the Kurt Cobain piece.  Still continue to get inspired by Nirvana today.

A quick pencil sketch of Bela Lugosi.

Dr Wolfenstein

Really love these sketches Gossamer. They remind me of the great illustrators from the 1900s to the 1950s. More please. :)

Mord

What do you do with all those great sketches? I hope that you either frame them or display them somehow. They really need to be seen.

Gossamer

Thanks Dr. Wolfenstein and Mord.

Mord I live in a very small town.  I display my work at the Christmas craft fair every year.  Something's sell but often just get some commission work.  Like most artists I guess I  have a stack of sketches that pile up literally and rarely work on canvas anymore do to storage issues lol.  I am just glad there is UMA so i can share them with guys.

Mord

Goss, it is we that are glad to be able to see these. Thanks for sharing your unique talent with us.

Gossamer

Thank you so much Mord.  I haven't done much art at all in the last year but right now I have been really inspired to get back into it.  The sketches have been the most fun of all and have been taking the hour or so to doodle in the evenings when I can.

Here is another Karloff doodle from The Mask of Fu Manchu!!!

Great sketch, Goss. You captured him quite nicely.

Gossamer

Thanks guys.  I have never been a photo perfect artist.  These pencil sketches are as close as I get.  Boris' nose gave me some trouble.  On the whole he took about maybe an hour and a half to accomplish.
I give a huge thanks to The Dr. Macro site for wonderful large scans.

Celebrating the Dark Horse

George Harrison was the quiet Beatle and often so underestimated.  He was my favorite.
This is from around the time he went to India in 1967.

Goss, absolutely stunning!! Very unusual color palette but you pulled it off! Defintiely one of your best!
