Yes, yes, my goodness, yes! Jesse will fit in very nicely. Are these watercolor? Acrylic? Oil?
I particularly like Art Carney's Fr. Christmas from the "Twilight Zone" episode "Night of the Meek"
---but then I may be a bit biased there. I also spy with my little eye Dr. Shocker & co.

Thanks for all the kind comments.  I'll post more soon.  I'm amazed by all of the artwork I've seen on this board, not only the paintings and drawings but the sculpts etc .
Meek, my paintings are watercolor on 140 lb hot press watercolor paper. I use hot press paper because it's smooth with none of the texture usually associated with watercolor paper. 140 lb paper because so long as the paper is stretched properly it hardly buckles at all, if it buckles at all, a pass or two with a blow dryer and it goes right back to perfectly flat.  I usually work 11x14 or so, thats just simply because thats how the sheet of watercolor paper brakes down to when I cut the sheet down to four pieces. Hot press paper so far as I can tell isnt available in pads of paper, at least not in any of the art supply stores in my area so I have to buy it in large sheets. I'm sure thats more info than anyone cared to know but...

Jesse: Ah, so nice to hear shop talk in regards to paint, paper, etc. Where I live there are no art supply stores and would have to drive at least 2 hrs. in any compass direction to find a large city that had such stores. My parchment paper comes from out in Portland, OR; my dear friend Sr. Grimm, who lives in Beaverton, found this shop that sells imported, hand-made paper and she keeps me supplied with the stuff. When my paper won't behave I just get out the ol' GE iron, set it on low and give it a good pressing.

Scary Terry

Good stuff, Jesse!  You've really captured the likenesses -- and created some wonderful color contrasts and textures.  The only suggestion I'd have, if you don't mind me making one, is that I think you could do without the hard outline in many cases and you'd have even better looking images for it.

I absolutely dont mind Terry, I respect your opinions and welcome them. I know in many cases I do that as a cheat of sorts , like when I dont like the contrast between background and image, other times I do it because something about the image doesnt look finished to me. My Art Carney is a classic example of a cheat. I liked the portrait, but didnt like how it sat on the background. So I pulled out some paynes grey darkened the background. Then grabbed a toothbrush and some white paint slattered it and saved (?) a painting I would have ripped up otherwise.  I'm self taught, not even any art classes to speak of in high school. (Something about being 15,16,17 and knowing more than anybody else ::) ) So I sometimes forget the basics like darkest dark next to whites whites  or color theory in my paintings. Constructive criticism like yours will help bring me on track. Thank you. BTW I absolutely love your scupltures.

If you have a hard time finding supplies PM me if you're looking for something and I'll try to help you out as I have not only the 2 chain stores Micheals and A.C. Moores , but also a "real" or "mom n pop" art supply store close by. Try and guess which one I enjoy going into more ;D
Finally you guys can call me Frank, my real name. Jesse Heywood is a Don Knotts character who's name I swiped when I didnt know if I'd like it here on these boards ;)

Universal Steve

Great work! Please post some more. It must be nice to be a talented artist. I do envy you. I really like the Phantom, Herman Munster and the Creature Walks Among Us.

A faded photograph. Poor Renfield, I'd forgotten about him until someone posted a photo of a picture frame that looked like a strip of film--Renfield has been occupying a frame like that for about 8 years on my lower bookshelf. The original painting was given to Dwight D. Frye and is now lost. The fading has cost Renfield much of the detail on his face--I painted this while hitting the "Pause" button on a rented DVD player repeatedly. This copy was made on the local Wal-Mart's "Picture Maker" until the guy behind the counter told me I couldn't make copies like that(this was pre scanner days at the library). I've always liked this image, Renfield's shadow gives him two extra arms and makes him look like an insect of sorts.

Thanks, I'm weird in that I dont do any art to make a profit. Its a hobby/stress releaser. I give the stuff I do to people I think would get a kick out of it. So far I've only printed the EYEGOR 5 times. I 'm gonna do 3 more pulls for friends tommorrow. I have a sneaking suspicion however, that we've met a bunch of times at Chiller. PM me and we'll work something out so you can get a shirt.

I couldn't believe it when I saw that! Has to be the only artistic rendering from "Night of the Meek" in existance? Great job!

Speaking of Meek. Sad to hear the "Renfield Ascending a Staircase" is lost. Always one of my favorites of yours!
