new monster piece to post when I finish it.

Any hints as to what it might be, you FIEND!?? ;)

Dr. Madd

As most people know, Dr. Madd is actually a character derived from a comic strip I sketch for my own amusement. This is a face maquette of his assistant.

Hey everyone! The weeks approaching Halloween are crazy for me (as I'm sure they are for most of us on here!) but I did manage to get this guys finished up! I sculpted the original out of oil based clay then cast it in slip latex, painted with mask paints and hand laid hair...

I was hoping to be able to put some of these up for sale right away to maybe get some out in time for Halloween but I ran out of latex and my shipment from California hasn't arrived yet  :( Oh well!

Dr. Madd- You must have quite a collection by now!! I keep thinking about how you could display them as a group, I know....I have not been to your house before, but I always imagine the sculptures lines up in one of those fancy coffee tables that have a glass top and when you look inside- it's a display area. I'm sure there's a name for that kind of curio table, but anyway....if I had the talent to make a grouping of my own art, I would incorporate it into my furnishings   :)   Although you do have a little one, and glass tables are a nightmare around kids. I replaced my glass top table with a rectangular cushy ottoman when my grandson was little and it's still in the living room.
Wow....how did an ottoman (not the ones from Turkey) work its way into my post?? I'm like Hank Kimball from Green Acres!!!
Cool work- Dr. M!

I have a triangle shelf behind my computer desk, out of reach of baby, but in display.
