Dr. Madd

A bust of the Invisible man, done with marblex. Remember, I work in a very folk-art/cartoony style.

The Mummy here and the Shrunken head are designed to hold a small candle or light. Light comes through the eyes and mouth of the mummy and through the eyes of the Shrunken head

Mr. Hyde. Unpainted, work in progress. Any ideas how to cut down on glare?

Ok, I had to go back and see what size these monsters were, so I'm glad there was a human finger next to one!  I wish I could sculpt, or draw, or paint or anything!!!  I guess that's why I'm such a good "audience" person because I really enjoy art! I love the Frankenstein's Monster!  The neck muscles are awesome and his eyes are very expressive to me.  I would display these on a dark colored wood fancy shelf like they sell at Target- I think they're pretty inexpensive and the edges are beveled.  The colors of the monsters would compliment each other all lined up. I can't wait to see how many monsters you'll sculpt, now that you've started!  I would like to see a Creature. Great job, Dr. Madd

Thanks! The creature it is.
Hyde will be painted soon, and I'm debating either the Phantom, the Hunchback or the Bride of Frankenstein. Maybe the Mummy. Pom-pom art will be next up on here.

The Bride is my FAVORITE monster, along with Frankenstein's Monster-of course!  Her hair seems like it would be hard to sculpt, and her face is absolute monster perfection! But I would encourage you to sculpt her to accompany your Monster!  I will never dress up as the Bride for Halloween, even though my family insists I should, because she's so perfectly lovely!  I also always pose my Bride dolls so it looks like they are hand-in-hand with their Monster Mates!  I know...... I am an adult, but I love them in pairs!

I like the Monster and Bride, too. My wife's  fave is the invisible man.The Bride's on my list. Her hair is easy enough to do.. Her face, however must be attractive, and getting beautiful, smooth lines is a bit of a trick.
