Mike, I agree with your allusions to the golden age of illustration. Your style shows it well. Being the chair of the illustration program at The Art Institute of Atlanta, I immerse myself in that rich history. There are some great sets on Flickr for anyone interested in "mid-century" imagery. Love the Andy. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, DL I appreciate it.

Sounds like you have an awesome job!!! Congrats!

That turned out GREAT!  Oh, what a bad time for me to have no "fun budget."

I totally understand, Terry.

Not to worry though, they'll be around for a while . . . until I get tired of making them.

Mike, that is  awesome. I still have some Freak Brothers and Fat Freddy's Cat comics, and that is priceless.

I am the Female Dracula

I don't know if I mentioned this a while back, but my grandfather's an artist. He's well-known locally, but it's Northern Ireland so that ain't much. He's actually English, from Lancashire I think.
Here's some of his stuff:

He does portraits and other stuff too, but I like his bottles and still lifes better.

Very nice, Female Drac! I agree with you, and like the first two better. Thanks for sharing those.

Monolith

Picasso had his blue period, looks like your grandfather is in his red period. Just jokin' (nice reds)
But seriously tell him we like those even 'though they don't have Dracula's or Mummy's in them.
And thank you for posting them.

About 15-20 years ago I made some collages. Here's one that's all about death and resurrection.

Monolith

Not sure what people will think of these.
This one is psychedelic in nature...

Monolith

This one is all about time-travel. I censored it a little bit. Wasn't too sure what I could show.
I have more, but I think some of them might be a little too intense for here.
Let me know what you think.

Illoman

Monolith, very interesting. Have you considered a shrink? LOL!!! Just kidding! But seriously one of the functions of art is to make you think, and these pieces do make one think. I'd like to hear your thought processes behind the creation of these. They are very intriguing to me. Nice work!

Well, you're not the first one to suggest a shrink, but I did these 15-20 years ago. I remember in some cases like the first one I had the image of the mummy and I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like so I searched through magazines and books until I found just what I wanted and then connected it all together. In the case of the other two I didn't have a pre-conceived notion of what I wanted and just gathered images that seemed connected and assembled them coming up with a theme along the way.

This is the first time I've ever really showed them to anyone. If they make the viewer think then I take that as a high compliment. I like the idea of people having their own interpretations of them.

Thanks for the comments, I've been enjoying your paintings, I like them a lot, by the way.
