1st I thought it was a home movie from Unknown Primate's archives... then I realized a real silverback gorilla was walking upright at a British Zoo (I believe).

Now Dino DeLaurentis's dopey walking Kong is vidicated!

Check it out!

Very cool! He really walked upright for a pretty decent interval. You don't see that too often. Of course, some primates can become used to being upright. The famous (or infamous) chimp Oliver walked upright a good deal of the time.

This is in a zoo in Kent, England! I don't know exactly where that is but Long Live Kong could tell us!  He may have even seen the ape, if Warwickshire is any where nearby!

Moonshadow, I don't believe that Oliver's' posture was as good as this gorilla and it walks upright most of the time!  His father and mother did as well but not quite as often according to the "Today Show" - Friday January 28, 2011.

He also kind of looks like that famous film footage of "Big Foot" 8)  thrhrt

Whoa!!  I have never seen that! I wonder if its a medical condition in his back, like when a person can't straighten up.

I believe they only stated that his dad and 2 sisters stood erect but never walked?!  I may have misheard though??  I was going to post this and then it dawned on my that the "Put some pants on, UP!" thread must surely be about this story...LOL!  Also there are actually quite a few instances of this occurring with other gorillas at other zoos.....

Darn it someone posted new replies same time I was sending this...luckily didn't lose my draft!

Unknown Primate

Hey Sean, I was just thinking about posting this myself!  Hell, this guy walks better than I do (unless, I've been imbibing).

Thanks, Char - afterall, it is my best side!

And, remember, Scatter's immortal words - " Pants Are Optional! "

Zombiehorror, that must'ave been me!

You know,  I always thought he said "a queen". But now I think you must be right, it's "the queen". Which unfortunately says a lot about how my mind works, and it's not good.... :o

I don't mind when people get me confused with Chatty- it's an honor, so I just go along with it. She's the one getting the bad end of the deal   :)
