Monsters For Sale

Sometimes I stumble across very cool items on eBay that have  nothing to do with monsters - Things that I would love to have and display, if money were no object and I had plenty of room.

I figured you guys do too.  So I thought I'd start a thread where we could share some listings that tickle our fancies.

Here is one to kick it off:

This is a U.S. Navy Mark V Diving Helmet from WWII, 4-4-1944.  What a great display could be built around this cool item.

Deep sea diving is one of those occupations that seem glamorous to a young boy - like being a pirate, cowboy, policeman or fireman.  Only when we get a little life under our belts do we realize what dirty, hard or hazardous lives they really would be.

Here is the listing:

Must cost a fortune to ship--at that perceived weight!

I'm not that far away.  For me, the shipping would be $69.38 - If I could afford the final price!

I'd love to accumulate oddball stuff like that.  It even looks haunted and reminds of this Scooby Doo cartoon.

Monolith

It reminds me of the deep sea diving outfit I used to have for my G I Joe. I used to take it into the bathtub and the pool and I could sink it with the lead boots and lead weights on the belt that it came with. They don't make much lead toys for kids anymore.

Oh, I had that toy too!  I loved that diving helmet...and the chest of treasure and the octopus.  Reminded me of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

If you buy the helmet, you'll still need the gorilla suit, and a machine that produces bubbles, to represent a deadly ET invasion.

I have always, always ALWAYS wanted to get these two larger Rumph items, but sadly even still between $400 - $900 is still VERY unattainable for me.  :(

If you don't know who Rumph is, he was a fantastic pottery sculpture in the 70's. These are two amazing large store display pieces that come up.

First it the huge Rumph shelf:

Here's it on ebay:

And next is the even more rare incredible display stand for his Satyr cologne. I'm going to make the images with the cologne bottles links instead, since the lady is NAKID.  :P

Not having them makes my heart hurt.  :(

I have never heard of this artist. Really fantastic photos. Crikey the details! Found a web site therumph(dot)com. Oh I love finding about things like this! Thank you Splitty. Do you own any pieces?
