Which monster kits should Aurora have added to their line in the mid-sixties in place of the controversial monsters in hot rods?

My nominees are these in rough order:

REGULAR SCALE

Moleman
Flying Saucer Man (from "Invasion of the Flying Saucer Men")
Metaluna Mutant

LARGER SCALE

Rodan
Ghidrah
Gorgo
Reptilicus

Opera Ghost

LOL...I was going to recommend Me based on the subject line!
"In each of us, two natures are at war--the good and the evil. All our lives the fight goes on between them, and one of them must conquer..."

Kidagain

Vandor Zorkov

A Chaney Jr. Wolf Man with matching boxart...no doubt sales would have spiked when boys finally got to buy the REAL Universal Wolf Man.

Plus, the original (current) Wolf Man kit would now be one of the most valuable due to rarity.

THe Thing (arness)
It the Terror from Beyond Space.
Have the Lambs stopped screaming Clarice?....Dr. Lector

Wolfman

RICKH

You can't kill the boogeyman.  Halloween (1978)

Mcdee

#7
The Fly
Colossal Beast
Ebenezer Scrooge cowering at the feet of Death (skeletal)...
The Munsters' House 1313 Mockingbird Lane

Mcdee
Remember, it's not just a hobby, it's an obsession!

Mord

I agree with the saucerman and add Dr. Frankenstein with lab diorama.

INVISIBLE MAN (moebius caught it up), nosferatu (monarch caught this), villain from house of wax, abominable snowman, bigfoot (other than the prototype), larger scale vampirella, flying wraith... the blob... rue morgue...

the ghost is a nice original if it ever gets here...

hard to disagree with any but would have liked to see the thing, the fly, gray, dr. phibes

a good place to look is at the morbid monster website. they sell faux aurora / horrora model boxes.

they have a paor of GH/kato boxes where they are angled apart and flank the front corners of the black beauty. kewell if they existed. keweller if that size car model did too.

they also have a dorian gray pic/box, decaying face along with what would have to be a decal of the portrait. differing portraits and hands/face would be kewell.

the fantastic four and  dr. doom are all drawn as to interlock together

RedKing

Those are all excellent choices. I agree with every one of them. Some that i would add in addition to those mentioned already:
Gamera
the Hideous Sun Demon
Mothra(larva and adult)
Vincent Price from Pit and the Pendulum
Barbara Steele from Black Sunday
Christopher Lee Dracula
Curse of Frankenstein
Curse of the Werewolf
Werewolf of London
Dracula's Daughter
Ardath Bey Mummy
The Joker
The Shadow
the Addams Family Living Room
And two huge connecting diorama series similar to the Prehistoric Scened series- one based on Destroy All Monsters with big scale movable versions of all of the Toho monsters from that movie: Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Rodan, Mothra, Angilas, Minya, Gorosaurus, Baragon, Varan, Manda, and Spiga along with the Moonlight SY-3 earth ship and some Kilaak UFOs.
And the other based on the Universal Monsters with connecting mad lab bases and big scale figures of Dracula, Frankenstein(on a lab table), the Mummy, the Wolf Man, the Creature the Phantom and Dr Frankenstein!

Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

would have like to have seen a line of Hammer Aurora kits too.

speaking of other than monster models, certainly using morbid monster as a help, there are all kinds of DC/marvel characters that could have been done. or still could be done. i just dont think most of the box art from morbid monster, other than the few i mentioned, really would transfer that well to "action - simulated" styrene modeling.

when they were cheap several years ago., i bought numerous batman, superman, robin models. the idea, assuming i got time and energy for it, was to kitbash them into other figures. have seen web pics where folks converted superman to hawkman and space ghost. got a few ideas...
