I have not.  I believe there are 2 types of people who love dogs---the type that MUST get another one immediately after one is lost (my mother in law) and the type that cannot (me).

Oh Sean, you're definitely not alone. I've had a lot of dreams lately about my boy Brisco, who passed almost four years ago. I haven't been able to bring another dog into my life yet. Still too much pain from losing him.

But eventually, I think it will happen.

I had a dog as I was growing up.  I haven't had one as an adult.  My husband was mauled by a dog when he was a child.  He is afraid of them.  I lavish attention on friend's dogs.

Here is Cal enjoying one of his favorite things----a stuffed duck toy.  He loved yellow plush ducks.  We had so many for him and we would throw them and he would run them down and bring them back one by one to his giant bed (that he destroyed)... and just when he was bringing the last one back, somebody would throw one off his bed.  The LOOK he would give you for that!

Great thread, Sean. I've had dream visits (which, without stirring up a quasi-religious debate, I sometimes think ARE literally that) from several departed friends, furry and otherwise.

Including (Eu)Gene (the Jeep), who we lost to brain cancer a few years back.

Craig (it's Craig, right?), I understand completely the 'dream visit' thingy.  I also sometimes feel there's people's spirits that we knew in animals and vice versa.  I don't know if I can explain that well. :-\
