I think he once dragged me to shore as I was drowning in a small pond. Tell him I aid "hello".

He told me about that. He's still trying to get the taste out of his mouth!

Okay, just found this one. My dad has been cleaning out his condo, and gives me these huge bags with tons of photos in them. There are many from the last twenty years, but among all the newer stuff are treasures like this one. I do not remember seeing this one. Christmas 1968. I'm on the right. Santa evidently saw a good looking elf off to the side...

Cool pic Mike!! My mom used to do that too................buy my brothers and I the exact same outfits in different colors. Must have been a 60s thing!! And yeah, Santa DOES look a little distracted there. I guess that wasn't a candy cane you were sitting on after all.

Moonshadow- You and your big bro are adorable  :)   and I agree that your Mom was super cool to set you up with foil hats to accompany your imagination! Have you seen the price of aluminum foil lately??  Whew! If you're gonna make one now, make sure you take care of it after each space mission.
Monolith-I am going to S.D. for the first time, in July!  I'm sooo excited! My daughter's fiance is from a small town, but we're all staying in a cabin in the Black Hills and we will be hitting everything from The Corn Palace to Crazy Horse. I'm going to find out where that awesome Bison statue is and my daughter and I will try to re-enact your photo. I'll let her be the snot. So, sometime in July- I will post it........of course it won't be as cute as your photo  :)

That's awesome! My photo is from the early '70's. I hope the Bison is still there, I'd love to see your re-enactment. I think there was a big green Brontosaurus dinosaur, too, which I also have a photo of but can't seem to find it right now.

Jim Burgess --- the "it'snot " caption was really funny!

Scatter--- I had a few Bison burgers a while back...Mmmmmmmmm.

That's me hanging from the Bison's nose in South Dakota. We went to Mount Rushmore.

I'm just glad you weren't hanging from anything on the OTHER end of the giant buffalo.  That kind of thing could leave a permanent scar. :o

Wow, very detailed! I've seen some of my brother's cars and they are similar. He lives on the central coast in California and goes to races in his hometown and also in southern California.

I love Scalextric cars .. Here is their website ... http://www.scalextric.com/

Hmm, we seem to have slowed down a bit here. I love seeing everyone's pictures, so I'll try to get things rolling again with this Christmas card photo of my family from 1967.

That's my mom and dad, my brother, and me. You'll notice everyone can follow instructions and look at the camera except for me, but heck, I was only about 3 and a half.

Also, in the background there's a small plastic jack o'lantern on the table. That was left over from Halloween but I am betting Mom let us keep it out past the holiday because we wanted to play with it. I know I still had it at least into my early teens.

The couch, the lamp, the two tiered table (which I believe it was illegal NOT to own back then). AWESOME!! What a nice looking family!!

My mom would make a special cake for each boy's birthday, featuring whatever they were into at the time. I had cakes with a Jack Kirby Captain America on it, a big Spider-Man face, even Elton John!! When I was 10 years old I was a huge Banana Splits fan, so she made me a Banana Splits cake! For the life of me I can't remember where we got the figures, but I believe it was some sort of model kit. She did a killer job painting them, and I've kept them for forty years, although they've lost a limb or two along the way, and Drooper is nowhere to be found. Sorry for the blurry pic, but that's all that's survived.

And here's the Splits as they are today:
