I know this thread started out as photos of our childhoods, but it's grown into much more. I'm posting this photo because all of these are friends who have survived life's journey with me. I have had all these from childhood, and am very glad that they are still around:

Fleegle was my favorite Banana Split. I have photos from when I first got Mickey and Batman. Topo Gigio was given to me since we used to watch him on the Ed Sullivan show each week. HR Pufnstuf was a mail in premium from Pop tarts I believe. I have been a Gumby fan ever since I can remember, and wish i still had my Gumby drawing kit that I had as a child.

MAN, I had those Banana Splits hand puppets too!! I had completely forgotten about them until I saw yours!! That's the BEAUTY of this thread............reliving an ERA. Snapshots of our lives. LOVE IT!!
We're all here because we're not all there.

Yeah, that was a great room. I'm just sorry I didn't have pictures of the rest of it. After I started working at the theatres (first the Crest and afterward the Ritz, both in San Bernardino) I was able to plaster my walls with one sheets. I remember having an original Planet of the Apes, Green Slime, Destroy All Monsters, THX 1138 and a bunch of others. That desk/bookcase was built in to the wall when we moved into that house, it had a built in fluorescent light fixture above the desk and it was the perfect place to build models and write. That spot where all the buttons are was a built in speaker, but it lead to nowhere.  Speaking of the buttons, Moonshadow, here's a closer look at most of them as they are today right next to me as I post this.

IN the upper right are 5 home made monster pins, the high contrast Wolf Man was store bought. Other pins came from Dan Roebuck, one Ackermuseum pin from Joe Moe, The Prisoner button was sent to me by a friend from England. Of course I have my UMA buttons proudly displayed and I still have my Creepy Fan Club Button and my Merry Marvel Marching Society button. Finally that Thing button was also home made, I actually tried to give it to Jack Kirby at the first San Diego Comic Convention, but he didn't want to put a hole in his suit, so I still have it.
As for the other artwork on display, the Frankenstein piece is a photostat of a mock greeting card my dad brought home for me. I don't know who the artist is. The other three pieces in the color photo were drawn by me.
This is a very fun and nostalgia inducing thread and I'm enjoying everyone's photos very much. It's great to see all this stuff and relive those long ago memories.

Thanks for showing your buttons Jim. I was positive I saw good old Benjamin Grimm there! It's really neat that you still have many of them.
I suspected that some of the artwork might have been made by you - even as a kid you had a lot of talent!

Scary Terry

Love that Batman hand puppet!  The Mickey Mouse looked familiar to me -- but I know we (my brothers and I -- whose toys all got mixed up together over the years) never had it.  Working my brain cells a little, I recall we had the matching Minnie Mouse hand puppet.

Oh -- I wish I'd kept my Merry Marvel Marching Society button!

Illoman--- I love those puppets! I always wanted one of those Batman puppets, but still don't have one.
It's nice to have some things from when you were a kid. I still have three of my childhood puppets; King Kong, Dennis the Menace and Zorro.
Here they are on the wall of a past  apartment...

Monolith

Here I am opening the Zorro puppet on Christmas morning. I lost his hat somewhere over the years and I think he came with a whip, too.

Monolith, love that Dennis as well as the Popeye figure!! Great stuff!

Glad the pic made you happy!
Those pj's have images of astronauts and a lunar landing on them. I remember they were pretty comfortable.

Scatter- I got the Smurf adult pjs from JC Penney- I'll keep my eyes open for Underdog!   :)

Illoman

We sell clothing where I work and I saw some kiddie pj's with classic, iconic Marvel images on them: Colan's Iron Man, a Kirby Captain America, Romita Spider-Man, etc. I was thinking now why can't these come in adult sizes????

RICKH

At the risk of looking like some sort of cult member, there's the Snuggie that has DC super hero logos all over.  Got my 17 year old son one at K-Mart this Christmas.

Rick, I work at Kmart and we never saw any of these during the holidays! Not that I'm a DC kinda guy, but still..
