Tom Hering reworked a Hawk Weird-Oh Daddy kit to get the finished model to look more exactly like Bill Campbell's fabulous box art:

Here in his own words Tom details the modifications he made to the kit:

Quote from: Tom HeringMods to the figure include: completely re-sculpted head and face (forehead, eyes, nose, upper lip, teeth, lower lip); all-new fedora with a feather; plastic bristles for hair (glued on one at a time); restyled eyeglass frames; new bow tie; new suit lapels; buttons added to both sleeves; expanded briefcase; changed the angle of the body where it attaches to the car.

Mods to the car include: bigger, speed-deformed drag slicks with custom wheels; new exhaust pipes; high-mounted taillights (modified rear end); bigger fins; bigger steering wheel; new distributor and velocity stacks; engine wiring; clear plastic, martini hood ornament (dollhouse miniature); drilled lightening holes in frame rails; narrowed front end; added steering arm and tie rod; all four wheels mounted with a positive camber.

Plus a new base made from 1/8" ABS sheet; black diorama ground cover used for asphalt; new road signs cut from styrene sheet; a pair of clear acrylic mounting stands raise Daddy and his car above the base, and display him airborne (it's hard to tell from the photo, but the drag slicks are 1/4" above the asphalt).

Here for comparison's sake is a "stock" build of the Daddy kit:

Tom clearly took the Daddy kit to another level!

Lindberg released this series of fabulous Weird-Ohs monster Trucks in 2008:

I mean how can a person go wrong with a model like that on the shelf let alone a vehicle like that on the street?

Beautiful work all around. It's nice to see that all these beach bums are well tanned.
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred.

Those are all great, Hep. They are so 60s California. I had a few, back in the day. I could never manage to make them look so beautiful, though.

Finally here are some close-up shots of rkoenn's crazy Hodad Makin' the Scene With a Six-Pack build:
