Some interesting and useful information regarding the scarcity of the original Hawk Weird-Ohs kits can be gleaned from this book published in 1996 by noted board game enthusiast and collector Rick Polizzi:

The book contains the following estimate of prices for boxed Hawk Weird-Ohs kits:

Weirdsville Customizing Set $500
Killer McBash $135
Leaky Boat Louie $100
Daddy $80
Davey $80
Digger $80
Drag Hag $75
Francis the Foul $65
Freddie Flameout $65
Endsville Eddy $60
Huey's Hut Rod $55
Sling Rave Curvette $30
Wade A. Minit $30

Now we can argue from now until the cows come home about a current price list let alone one from 1996, but the fact is that Polizzi's estimates provide a very decent ranking of the relative scarcities of these kits. Quite simply, I'm in general agreement with Polizzi's assessment and I've been collecting these and other select model kits since 1982-83.

Frantic Cats $75

Woodie on a Surfari $80
Hodad Makin' the Scene with a Six-Pack $75
Beach Bunny Catchin' Rays $70
Hot Dogger and Surf Bunny Riding Tandem $65
Hot Dogger Hangin' Ten $65

Here are a couple of good pictures of the Hawk Weirdsville Customizing Set which includes complete Davey, Digger and Leaky Boat Louie model kits:

When I first started collecting model kits some 35 years ago, I wasn't interested in getting this set because of the element of duplication.

:o

But I am now of course! Mint-in-box specimens are really tough to find though.

My good friend Hep suggests I get this over on the Weird ohs thread! Found this original given me by Mr Bill Campbell back in the '90s. Great man, great artist!

Hepcat

A Bill Campbell original! Wow! Too cool.

I don't remember Hawk releasing anything at all like those kits back in the sixties or seventies.

These kits are from Multiple Products, I saw them at Ollie's too, re-issues from the 60's kits, originals are scarce.

Hepcat

To my knowledge Multiple Products didn't issue any model kits.

:-\

Are you referring to Model Plastics Corporation (MPC)?

Devlin

No, they were in fact from Multiple. Originally they were branded as Ripley's Believe it or Not! kits, and they depict torture instruments displayed in their various "Odditoriums."
