Very sad. New her as Honey West!

It's hard to believe that the beautiful and talented Anne Francis, star of FORBIDDEN PLANET and of the tv series HONEY WEST, has passed away at the age of 80.  When I met Miss Francis at Wonderfest a few years ago I was struck--as was everyone who met her, I think--at how incredibly young she looked.  She was a charming, friendly person who talked with every fan who approached her as though they were longtime friends.  Rest in peace, sweet Anne.

She was one of my favorite "famous" friends. She was a big supporter of my daughter's volleyball career throughout middle and high school. She would always contribute, with her usual "Hugs" written on the check. She was funny and flirty and genuine.

I just recently found this photo, of Sara Karloff, Donnie Waddell, myself, Carol Bauman and Anne, taken on a trip to the Louisville Zoo.



She was a very special lady, and I'm glad she was part of my life.

Wow, Honey West!  I'm just glad she lived a good long time.  Great memories!  She was in a made-for-tv movie called MONGO'S BACK IN TOWN ('71), with Savalas, Sheen, Sally Field & Joe Don Baker - it's one of my all-time favorite crime dramas & she played a babe named "Angel".  I was lucky enough to tape it, from one of the rare times it was on television.

So long to sweet sexy dangerous Honey West, my very first boyhood crush.  I was five when I spied her on the tube clad in black, hypnotized by that beauty mark dancing below her lips.  What were those strange, exhilarating sensations stirring in me?  Time to break out the DVD boxed set and try to remember, recapture that which is 45 years long gone, yet buried within.

Just last year I got  from my sweetie a book on Honey West and the dvd of the show.  It wasn't my birthday, anniversary, or Christmas or anything like that.  A nice surprise.  I remember watching Honey West as kid and loved it. Bless you Anne Francis and rest in peace.
