Although I did grow up with a DANNY O DAY dummy (Jimmy nelson's counterpart) I believe that Winchell was the greatest ventriloquist EVER!!!!!

Knucklehead Smiff Drum Solo- Paul Winchell

In my humble opinion he was the best because he was the best actor of them all.

I am literally dumbfounded by his talent.

I enjoyed Paul's talents greatly with Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smithg. I was able to get an Autographed postcard thru the mail from Paul right after he had patented a artificial heart or valve replacement, and received a Doctorate.

You know, much as I love Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy I have to agree with Danny on this one. One time I had a Winchell "how-to" ventriloquist record. I still have my Charlie McCarthy ventriloquist doll that I got when I was probably 8 years old. His hat is a little rough but his shoes are still there. My mom safety pinned them to his feet years ago because I kept losing them.

I have the Frankenstein monster dummy and the difference with him and other dummy's is that he is made with movable joints. His eyes move also his mouth, the body moves at the shoulders, elbows, hips and knee's also he stands 24 inches tall and sports a punk rock haircut. Overall a fantastic figure, I forgot to add that his head also twists from side to side.
