I have NOTHING appropriate to say. :-\

Anything inappropriate will do. In fact, that's what we expect of you by now.

My daughter has joined the Color Guard for her school's Marching Band and unfortunately they had a champioship competition in Hershey, PA which had us away for the day.  Our house was decorated (not as much as last year, but more than any other house in the neighborhood) and we put out a bucket of candy and hoped for the best while we were away.  I wore a Frankenstein mask at the show and wore my UMA shirt.

Williamstown came in 2nd in the Hershey championship (Tournament Of Bands)  and 1st the day before in Allentown, PA (USSBA)  (both were for Group 2 size).

Me at the show

me with the team mascot for the Williamstown Braves (played by one of the band mothers)

Well, Halloween got ruined for me this year. Every day started going wrong, and at the last minute everything I planned on doing for the costume contest didn't work because I couldn't get the stuff I needed or could not get it in time. I ended up not even going to the show at the Portage for the costume contest because I was just too depressed and fatigued to even try. Halloween night itself was shot due to all sorts of things going wrong and having to call it an excessively early night due to an excessively early start Monday morning.

Ugh! We should have TWO Halloweens a year precisely because of stuff like this!

Sorry to hear that you had a not-so-good Halloween Barlow. It did seem a little weird this year with the confusion about the actual TOT day ( we had both days going full blast) and it seemed like Summer hung on a little longer than in past years. Of course tonight we have a freeze warning-bleh!  I understand about your costume issues. I ordered my grandson's costume fron Nickelodon shop on July 12th and it took 3 months to get it! I started sweating it around Oct 12th , even though he was cool about it and got a back-up costume from Walmart, and just when I thought it would never come in time- it showed up. I'm too old for this kind of stress!  haha  And by the way- we were wiped out on Monday morning and still haven't recovered!  Well we have plenty of time to start planning for NEXT year.....

Barlow - that sounds like my Halloween, last year!  April 30th is WALPURGIS NIGHT, which is supposed to be the "other" Halloween (although it hasn't caught on yet).  I celebrated it last year, short of displaying creepiness in my yard.   Monster Kids everywhere could really turn the heads of civilians, and probably irk most people, if we started celebrating April 30th like we do October 31st!  I plan to >:D.

Crap Barlow, I'm sorry to hear that buddy. Yeah, sometimes the best laid plans go awry.

Any chance to celebrate another Halloween!  I already recognize Walpurgisnacht every year, in honor of Count Waldemar Daninsky, and I've mentioned it many times in my (never to be published) fiction as a day when magickal boundaries are weakest.

Of course, to gain any popularity, we need to market it as May Day, with the parties all scheduled for May Day Eve.  Several cities have April Fool's Day celebrations / parades at the beginning of April, so if we make it appear to be linked to May, rather than April, it could catch on better.

Naked?  You mean I wasn't supposed to be in the raw last week?

Sounds like a plan!!

Fortunately, no one knew you were naked because of your natural furriness. If anyone from PETA had seen you, they would have tossed paint on you for wearing mink.
