I've been to the Monster Bash twice (2008 & 2009).  It's laid back and very family-friendly.  There's plenty of movies and presentations.  The best thing is to sit around and hang out with fellow fans of the classics of horror and SciFi.

I'm trying to convince a good friend of mine that we should go (my S.O. has no interest sadly).  We've both decided not to go to the San Diego Comic Con this year, and even with cross-country air fair, I think Monster Bash would be much cheaper! Plus, I like the smaller, more personal feel it seems to have.  It also looks like attendees have pretty good access to the guests - is this true?
