UP- I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that you graduated from Rehab U.!  Keep up the good work and stay strong!    When I was finished with my spine rehab a couple years ago, I stopped doing all the neck exercises and went right back to my "bad" behavior- such as crappy posture and looking down waaaay too much. And now I'm trying to ease back into a routine of taking care of neck business!  So, my son.... my only advice (I'm wearing a graduation robe right now) is to never stop taking care of you  :)
Now throw your hat up in the air and turn your tassel to the other side!!  Congratulations!
Sean- I hope all your health tests turn out the right way.   :)

I made the Dean's List, too!  Thanks everybody!

Got a GREAT report from my cardiologist today.  He even lowered a couple of my meds dosages!  Plus, I weighed 317 - you can see my ribs!  Well - barbecued ribs from Texas Roadhouse...  :D

UP- I'm glad to hear about another milestone for you!  Make sure you protect those ribs when you are wrestling around on the floor (or wherever)! Those things are fragile   :)

So I'd taken to climbing the stairs up to my eleventh floor office since Halloween. Well they locked all the doors to the stairwell to foil my stratagem earlier this month. The far ranging conspiracy against me continues to grow!

Resurrection of a thread.........down to 218 pounds from a high of 252. Still 30 or so pounds to go, but making decent headway. And I get to read from UP.  :(
We're all here because we're not all there.

You go, Scat!

Had to bow out of a show because of knee problems; probably looking at surgery. And one of the best aids to knee health is less weight, so, back to the serious grind!

I walked about three miles today...maybe more. I hit a huge antique mall, another big group of antique malls, and two big flea markets. Didn't find anything worth a heck monsterwise, but I sure walked my butt off.

Congratulations, Scatter! Keep at it, dude.  :)
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Just found this thread, and it is exactly what I need.  I need motivation to keep eating right and working out so that I can live a long life and hopefully effect others along the way.  I read all the past posts of people struggling, yet overcoming great obstacles, in order to better themselves.  Accountability is the foundation to beginning the rough journey of a better life that is physically, mentally, and spiritually gratifiing.

Over the past several years I've struggled with weight and eating problems.  After I got out of the Army I gained 50 pounds, most of it fat, but some muscle.  Since then I've really struggled to maintain a healthy weight.  Some years are better than others.  I usually work out 3-5 times a week, but then sometimes I only go once.  My main problem is that I love to eat.

About 2 years ago I went 5 months of eating nothing but organic foods, no sweets, and all healthy foods.  The weight just rolled off and I had never felt healthier in my life...like I was more than human.  But that lifestyle was just too strict and very hard to maintain, and eventually I went back to my normal routine and put back on the 35 pounds that I had lost.

So, I guess it is time to hold myself accountable for, well, myself.  Hopefully my UMA family could help me along the way.  Support is the best way to get through these bumps in our life.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity...
