I posted this Limerick in honour of you the pride of the UMA in the Limerick thread.

Scatter, Charp13 and unknown primate I admire,
They have been motivated to lose weight because they tire,
So we should support them in their quest,
By shouting encouragement that they'll do their best,
Although I suspect that they are not alone as we too could aspire.

P.S
I'm behind your efforts 100%, good luck.

Absolutely Poe-worth Maurice!! Thanks!

PS, I've got to get back to the limerick thread.

Ps PS, you're not Maurice Colgan, are you??  I used to run into a fine Irish fellow on the FECC MB  by that name. I finally had to jettison the place as a hangout because the nastiness was getting to be a contagion.

I know how you folks feel. About 3 months ago I was 237 pounds, not too good at 5' 11". Just about able to get into 40" pants! I decided to cut down on everything I ate.Started to eat Lean Cuisine dinners, no candy, chips, all the good stuff! Don't work out really but now I'm 207. My doc wants me to get to 200, that's going to be real fun to do this time of year. Good luck everyone on their weightloss quest, it's not really as hard as it seem's after you see those pounds drop. Good luck again.

30 pounds?? Awesome!! Thanks for the note Kidagain!!

Today a 3 mile walk and some bodyweight interval training. Burpees, dips, and modified pullups (for some reason I can only do 3 unmodified pullups now that I weigh as much as a small car. Imagine that  :D). Starting weight 244.

Scatter remember, it's not where you start, it's where you end up. Keep up the good work!

I am not usually a bandwagon oriented individual, but monkeyboy, this one I will support and join you in my friend.

Working around house for Halloween each night and weekend, the knees and bod are killing me, and doing stairs leaves me winded, so with regard to you and to our children, this less than fit 224 lb (at 6') Monsterkid will tear off the tags, and blow off the dust from my new yet unused bike, AND use the gym membership which has not seen the light of day for nearly 3 years (not cancelling justified by not wanting to pay those start up costs!).

I'm now hearing Eye of the Tiger

First off Scatter, my dear, you are not any of those mean things that you called yourself.  It will be easier to lose the weight if you love yourself instead of putting yourself down.  I like you!

That being said,
Good luck!  You can do it!  I'm proud of you!  I'm "pleasing plump", too, so I'm in your corner, too.

Well, I took issue with myself a little while back when none of my suits would fit, and I could barely fit in my jeans. I couldnt afford to buy new clothes so something had to give. So--I changed my way of eating and I lost 15 lbs. I wanna lose 5-10 more. So--now I am back to looking like this. Hope to stay this way unless I lose my war with the ho-hos. ;D ;)

I'm right there with you guys though not by choice. Several years ago at 6'1" I was 12-13% BF and 192#. I could squat 200#x 40 reps. Had a 300# close grip bench ,was dipping with BW +105# around my waist for multiple sets, could curl 85# 25 reps.

Now due to many perm injuries Lower neck, lower back, trashed shoulders etc from my "stupid" lifting days I can't do 80% of the moves I used to. And I've lost muscle size and gained fat. The last year has been pretty bad. I guess I shouldn't feel THAT bad since I only weight 207 but I have a bird frame and to me that is FAT.
I have a power rack, bench and several other pieces of equipment literally 3 feet outside my kitchen door in the garage. Can't really use it. Here's the catch 22. Right now even a set 35-40 P.U's can trash my shoulders for a couple days(forget about doing 5 sets of benching and rows etc) = added depression which I've had since I was a kid. So instead of coming home from work and hitting my gym I pop a beer and a shot before my keys are even hung up. I average 60 beers/shots per week. It helps with the pain and the stress of my ever expanding oh so micro-managing job that I have been at for 19 years and am really really hating more and more. Unfortunately I've added 2 1/2 inches to the waist in the last several mos.

So there is my story in a nutshell. YES that WAS a nutshell.
Gary and the rest on a quest go for it and know that we're behind ya and post your W.O's
results etc.

Count me in guys, I'm at 5'10"  198 lbs.  Not huge, but more than I want to be.  I was just inspired reading this and walked two miles.

That's one of my problems. I hate doing cardio and hate walking. For me cardio was seeing if I could squat 135# for 100 reps then drop and do at least 40 P.U's. WALKING,too boring. Jogging, not even an option anymore.

My gracious, Mr. Phibes! You look like a movie star!     :)

I've eaten maybe 5 Hostess products in as many years. Cake/candy etc not an issue. It's the damn alkyhaul that gets me.
