UP- I would feel exactly the way you feel, if I were in your shoes. Whew!! You've been through so much, yet you've been so attentive to all of us- with your artwork and kind words, I can't help but worry that you are pushing yourself a little too hard. Maybe you could let us know what we can do for you- even if it's something we can do for your family members. I really don't think anyone thinks you're being whiny OR an old fart!  :)  You're a wonderful human being and, from what I've seen from your family's comments, a great dad, uncle, husband, etc. This is one of those times when I feel like Scatter, and wished that I lived closer to you guys.
I certainly will hope and pray that you can be more relaxed with your new heart moniter. I'm not in the medical field so I don't understand 99 percent of what you've been through medically, but I've heard time and time again that talking to friends or sharing your concerns with people who have had the same experiences, is a very good thing to do. Let us know if you need anything from us monster friends! We can do what we can do from our respective lairs!  We can send you musical "hot mixes", Snuggies, cookies, notes, things we've crocheted (that looks like it's spelled wrong), Shark-Grams, gum, more ape toys for your collection, carpet samples, HECK!  Anything you need!
Please take care of yourself  :)  And don't be afraid to ask for any kind of help- you have helped a lot of us here- more than you know.

Thank you, Charlotte - honestly, just having you all as friends makes a world of difference - and that's enough - well, except for prayers, good vibes & pep talks from you guys,  ;D...

I do like cookies, though  :D...

Now, if you REALLY want to do something for me, just keep posting about your workouts, healthy lifestyles, accountability and positive outlooks!   :) :) :)

Mark, sorry to hear this bro.........there are going to be some bumpy parts to this ride, but we're all in the rollercoaster with ya. Or rather, this Kong ride. Nancy and Jordan send their love too.
We're all here because we're not all there.

Been out of town so I missed this earlier.  Glad to hear you are still hanging in there, UP.  Those branches are stronger than you know and the wind won't blow you off.  Sorry to hear about your latest episode but how you handle it inspires a lot of us so keep it up (no pressure ;D)

As to my latest, gained a pound over the previous week but still feeling pretty good and active.

Sean

Mark, you're anything but 'whiney'.  Whiney is reserved for people who aren't doing anything to improve their situation, IMO.  That's not you.  I think you talking to us about your experiences helps us.  I think this thread was a great idea, Gary.

I went to the Ophthalmologist as part of my diabetic treatment plan Saturday.  I was also feeling like my eyesight wasn't quite as sharp (so I was a little nervous).  They check your eye pressure (mine was good) and for any leaking from the retina (I had none, which is good).  My eyesight is still 20/20 in my worse eye (left) and a little better in my right eye.  They were like: "what was your eyesight BEFORE?"  It used to be 20/15.  And I noticed it wasn't quite the same.  Still no glasses for me.  My fasting glucose has been good and it's 17 days since I stopped taking 1 of my 2 oral diabetes meds.

Tomorrow morning I'll weigh in to see what I've lost since January 1st.

Superman!

;D  One of the other funny things about me is that my stubble is made out of barbed wire or something.  I WRECK razor blades.  I recall a Superman comic that had him 'shaving' using beams of red light from his eyes because razors couldn't cut his facial hair. 8)  I guess I really AM Superman. ::)  MY kryptonite?  Cheese.

Weighed in today (I'll do it officially the 1st of every month)... I'm down 17 pounds since January 1st.  That's good, but now with all of the extra schmutz burned off the top, we start getting into the harder pounds to lose.  I'd love to lose 1-2 per week.  Maybe 6 for the month.  We'll see.  My goal would be to lose another 46 lbs... 8)

I remember that Superman pic - that's the first thing I thought of!  Keep it up, bro!

Good work Sean!

Karen, your expressed interest and support is much appreciated.  I know that you mentioned that you andf your hubby had done some of your own 'restorations'.  How goes it?

Thanks for asking Sean. Hubby is still going strong. He exercises regularly and has really cut back on portion size, so he's dropped weight and managed to keep it off. His weight has plateaued a bit though so he's a little frustrated. But he's down to one blood pressure med so that's good.

I'm a different story. I had dropped ten pounds in 2010 and was doing well until around April last year when I started having headaches and balance issues. After seeing numerous doctors and trying a ton of things, the headaches seem to be resolved (migraines) but the balance issues persist. I was also experiencing fatigue. So my workouts  started getting fewer and fewer and basically stopped -except for walking -last summer. That resulted in me packing back on another 8 pounds. I know, people say "8 pounds, that's nothing" but believe me I feel it. Now that the headaches have been reduced, I'm feeling a little better and have started going back to the gym. I'm hoping the balance issues will also get resolved or at least I will learn how to manage it. But I'm determined to get that weight back off. I'm very encouraged by you and Gary and Mark and everyone here.

Today I'm joining in! At least for today..... Wife has consented to travel with me to the Kansas City area Brass Armadillo. Mucho number of booths! Mucho walking! Thus mucho exercise. I'm still alittle over-weight from the holidays. Man, I ate big!  Scatter, you will be proud to know that just yesterday, at the grocery store, I passed up the Hostess discounted Christmas fruitcake. I wanted it so bad! And yes, I am sure it was still good..........that stuff lasts for years.   Buddy
