Quote from: horrorhunter on July 17, 2016, 06:07:42 PMI dredged up this old thread to post this Empire Haunted House I bought off eBay.

It's from 1969 and has the original cord marked "Judith Novelties". Works well too.

Oh wow! That'll look great this Halloween!

Quote from: horrorhunter on July 17, 2016, 06:07:42 PMHopefully some other folks will post some of their Hween blowmolds in anticipation of the coolest time of year.

Absolutely! We need to see more of these beauties to set the mood for trick or treating!

nothing great (ie. no strange frank bucket) mostly vintage but some newer things. all from garage sales or goodwill.

If only they could each tell their stories about being picked our from their stores and taken home by, or to, some excited youngster.

It would be interesting to know their tales of being proudly displayed or carried from door to door by wild-eyed, strangely attired Halloween celebrant in the grasp of candy mania.

And then callously discarded and forgotten by those selfsame youngsters....

I found this guy literally in a ditch on the side of a road this last summer.  After giving it a wash, getting some dirt, rocks and two pencils out of it - and adding a new light from the craft store - he is illuminating the porch this Halloween.

I have a special fondness for "rescued" items - things that are being loved again after what might have been years of neglect.

I think they're great myself! I especially like the totem pole!

Local yard sales and Goodwills in this area never seem to have anything of interest like that. The one exception I recall was a yard sale I passed on the way to work a few summers ago. They were setting up, and had what looked to be about 4 large Halloween blow molds. I desperately wanted to stop, but I would have been late to work. I went back on my lunch break, and they were all gone. Sigh.

I like that one. It is more elongated and with a longer stem than what you usually see.

My wife once found a discarded Fisher Price Little People castle, set out for the trash up the street from my Dad's house. It didn't have any of the figures, but that castle has provided untold hours of play to both our kids, and is still in my daughter's room today.

Hours of play to your kids?! What about you personally?

Well, I got some play in on it too. The secret passage way is the coolest.

Looks like a whirligig.  When you hold her by the bottom and blow your breath at her, do her arms rotate?

Yes, they do. I haven't seen another one of these. Do you have any information about it? Maker and date? ;D

Never seen this one before.  It is just a wind toy to place in the garden or wherever.

Usually these things are homemade and of wood.  People put them outside windows to have something to watch when the hummingbirds aren't feeding.

I like it.
