Iam very interested i watching the UFO shows, etc. Many people go overboard when they hear the words UFO ? Most people automaticlly think that when a UFO is seen, it is thought to be a spaceship from another planet. But if you stop and think of it, a UFO is exactly what is reported. Its an unidentifed flying object.
Now, most people dont stop and think that this object could be a secret military plane etc. But UFO's are all concidered from another planet because of their speed, shape, sound, lights, etc. Until the U.S. actually captures one of this "UFO's i'll keep my thoughts to myself.
Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf, when the wolfbane blooms, and the moon is full and bright, AAHHOOoooo

Here's an interesting story which has re-surfaced from my past.

Back in late fall of 1974, one evening I saw a UFO hovering just beyond a tree across the street from our house. We called the Police to report it, but nothing further ever came of of. Last year, while visiting my sister, her family was teasing her about her UFO story--which come to find out, was identical to mine. Ironically she and I had never spoken about it, since probably the day after the sighting. It tripped her family out. from 1963 until 1975, we lived next to the Aberdeen Proving Ground--an Army base with an Ordinance School, and a facilites for testing tanks and missles.

Further to this, I've recently reconnected to an old Girl friend from, who went to a separate Middle and High school in a neighboring town, Edgewood, which also had a military installation known as the Edgewood Arsenal. Two weeks ago, she mentioned the same incident, from 1974, and described the craft in the same way I used to. I've not seen or spoken to Liz since roughly 1978, and before that, it was 1972

Submitted for your approval.

Thought I'd throw this into the mix...

Back in August, investigative reporter Leslie Kean appeared on the Colbert Report to talk about her new book, "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record."  I have not read the book yet, but Kean makes it clear that 95% of the sightings are explainable but it's the other 5% she's interested in.  Of course Colbert makes fun of her as much as possible (that's his job) but it sounds like she did some really great work in the book focusing on that unexplainable 5%.

Here's a link to the interview with Colbert.  The vid was up on Youtube but it got pulled.  Please note, you may have to sit through a commercial before the interview.

Here goes.
Consider the source:  the History Channel has spread more BS to the masses than any other means save perhaps the internet and Coast To Coast AM.  I do not recall seeing the program in question,  however, judging from what usually airs on the History Channel, the program probably started out with a premise and selected "facts" to support their premise (the definition of pseudoscience).  Several years ago, NOVA, a science program on PBS, created a fine model of a pyramid using the same type of stone and hiring a dozen or so Egyptian stone masons to use some rope, copper and stone tools,  and a few ramps made of dirt.

I would suspect the History Channel's high tech construction crews could not have replicated a Medieval cathedral or a Minoan Tholos tomb or even a first century Roman aqueduct.  If they are experts in 21st  century construction techniques (concrete, steel, re bar, etc) there is no reason that they could understand First Millennium BC stonework.
The Math involved was being taught by Pythagoras of Samos around 500 BC.  And it was old then--Sumerian texts from the 3000 BC discuss it.

The real problem I have with the Ancient Astronaut explanation is the implication that Human beings are too dumb to have accomplished anything significant without some space alien turning up and showing them how.  I find that condescending attitude insulting to our entire species.

What he said...........the premise that our ancestors were morons is contradicted by even a cursory glance through history. The Solomonic/Herodian Temple retaining walls in Jerusalem has stones which dwarf anything used in the pyramids of Giza, but no UFO mythology surrounds them. Why??

Simply, though the engineering feats of the ancient Jews dwarf those of the ancient Egyptians, there isn't the mystery and intrigue generated by the Egyptian Craze of the early 20th century sparked by Howard Carter, the discovery and display of Tut's remains, and the unlocking of the hieroglyphs to a fascinated audience of millions.

The aura of mystery engendered by those discoveries is what spawned the present mythology, which New Age gurus immediately began spinning into their cultic fantasies. This linkage of Egyptology with New Age mysticism (which nearly always includes an aspect of alien brothers who will come to enlighten us...........blah blah blah) has come down to us today in the form of the present UFO/Egyptian mythology.

If aliens helped the Egyptians, a more advanced alien race MUST have helped the Jews.

We're all here because we're not all there.

You said it Fester. Our ancestors had some very bright folks among them who achieved all sorts of things, purely through hard work and some smarts. No aliens necessary!

So even if that's true can you really dismiss the "fact" that there is other life out there and they HAVE been here at some point? I agree that prob 98% of all sightings are explainable but...

Opera Ghost

I think it pretty self-centered to think that we're "it" in the entire expanse of the Universe.

So, at the risk of a Gov't exposure here, by dimissing the fact there is no other life....are you actually confirming the existence thereof?

Thank you for posting this interview drzeus , These highly respected (former military) wittnesses have been a real eye opener.
There are just too many reputable people coming forward with the same story.
Sorry Dr.Geist, but these guys make more of a case for the existance of  UFO's and Alien visitation than you do to the contrary.
